The good ole boy network of big time alum contributors don't feel that way. They put a
premium on beating Tech above just about all else.
An inability to beat Tech is a big part of why Donnan was fired after 4 straight bowl wins
and two straight 8-4 seasons.. which is markedly better than what the currently still employed
regime has been able to accomplish.
Personally I agree about UF, but consistently losing to Tech will get you kicked out the
door faster than anything else.

The good ole boy network folks will be dead soon. They are living in the past. Losing to Tech is bad though. It is just less of a concern recently because it is less common.
