Guess we should go to the original subject matter of this thread Wartdawg. UGA's program has slipped since all of the barking started about Richt and company, or some of his hires. For example, where are we now. Started being rated 19 or so by the know-it-alls, and guess we got lost and now we have to dig or swim our way out of the abyss.

I hope, not only hope, I think we as supporters of UGA's football program deserve more than we are getting out of Athens. With the amount of investment in dollars and top recruits selecting UGA to show their skills, most years should produce acceptable results.

Stats will always be one place that anyone can move around and make a point. We are faced not only in my opinion with a lot of disgruntled alumni and fans, I believe it can carry over to the young men on the field.

My main reason for participating in this thread is to say . . . . when is enough, enough. Anyone on this board that wants another 3, 4, 5 years like the last 3, 4, 5, speak up and post your name in this thread.

Some of us are not going to allow some folks to post and run after making statements, and especially starting threads that sully this board.

Say it again . . . anyone want five more of the same, post your name to this thread.

Too many folks here that know and understand what "true support" means.

Just a thought.

It's just pretty darn irritating to see fans of the program respond to this talk about
our performance over the past 3 years with "well we don't have very high standards anyway",
and that is how some of those posts have come across.

I have high standards. That is not based on win totals though. It is based on effort, execution and competence. Wins come with talent and preparation. The talent has been there. Any more time under Richt is wasting talent currently on campus. He is not the man for the job.

Anyone thats read my threads knows that I've been across the spectrum where CMR is concerned. While I was grateful Mark was able to rebuild the character of our program, he often left many wanting more. Fact is, Richt's career at UGA has been riddled with controversy, angst and disappointment. It's easy to look at the early successes and turn a blind eye to the failures. UGA has been doing that since the early 80's! From clock management, play calling, coaching issues, coaching hires, player issues, CMR's tenure at UGA has been anything but sheer happiness turned to disappointment following a couple of bad seasons!...

Unfortunately, the trend we all see is sad and significant. Mark is a creature of habit and not likely to change, any more than he has changed since arriving in Athens 11 seasons ago. The game has changed, the SEC has become explosive and Mark simply does not have the command, in sight, or ability to lead us beyond mediocrity.

Mark Richt is a great man and will make a great coach for some other team, but he no longer needs to be our coach, lest we are willing to accept mediocrity as a base, with an occassional run of success!

Not sure which posts you are referring to, however, maybe I am a bit like sadlerdawg, could be that I don't understand. Maybe you could cut and paste some of those.

I don't disagree with that one bit.

I said in an earlier post that UGA haD a tradition of being a fighter. A team that always fought and
played hard. A team that sometimes over-achieved when our talent level wasn't up to par. In that same
post I said that is what disturbed me the most about the current regime.. the fact that we were NOT
living up to THAT tradition.
