Another outstanding recruiting year. Amazing how most of us have come to "expect" this type of return from Smart and Company. There was a misstep in our recruiting behavior, NCAA made sure that we added to their deep pockets for our lack of judgment.
Hard for all of us not to "chirp" when we have this much success on the recruiting trail. Of course media always works the recruiting rankings to show us just how much they really know about a players talent. Not saying that they get everything wrong, they don't, not all of them anyway.
I look at some of the ratings for players each year, rather closely, find that one or two years down the road the young men that did not reach the lofty heights of 5*****'s develop and have better college outings on many Saturdays. Little doubt that a large part of recruiting is like playing a card game in Las Vegas, don't always know the outcome until the cards are dealt and played.
Takes me to this . . . . again . . . . years prior to Smart and Company we were often led by the nose through the media for the most part. You and I are not privileged to the entrances that the media are afforded. Leaves many of us to watch the high school players in our areas and know or think we know who the best players are. Many times have seen the preferred walk-on or the two or three star rated players turn out to be "golden" on Saturdays.
Living in Florida, familiar with a lot of the players that go on to be successful in college football and beyond. Smart and Company made a "haul" in the Sunshine State recruiting for 2020. Below is a hudl film showing Jalen Carter's many talents, and he has many. Comes from the same area that produced Warren Sapp. Like Sapp or not, Jalen Carter is almost an identical twin when it comes to playing the game. Has zero fear and will win many battles on Saturdays wearing the Red and Black. Best part of Jalen choosing Georgia other than his enormous talent(s), turned the gators down, and they really wanted this young man.
