Not making your point at all. Had we handed to Chubb or Michel and not got it, you would have complained about unimaginative play calling. How many negative or no gain rushes did Chubb and Michel have. Believe it was in the double digits. How many times did Mckenzie run the jet sweep. Twice. Believe one for 17 and another for 14. Designed to be perimeter runs just like the sweep to Mckenzie.

Not sure how I made your point. It's no secret to anyone our best players are Chubb and Michel. Doesn't mean they are going to be the most productive. This year I feel McKenzie has been are biggest playmaker. He has earned the right to touch the ball in crunchtime. I am still fine with the call. We block like we should instead of acting like we are playing freeze tag and just touching the MLB we pick up the first and much more. If Chubb cleans up the first threat, we pick up a big chunk.

Chaney has done some good things as an OC. He has had productive running teams as well. My point was if he felt passing was what was needed, he would throw it 50 times. If he saw success running he would run it 50 times. Kirby wants to be balanced. Chaney is going to do what the boss says like he should.

Play calling had nothing to do with this game or the Nicholas St game. Hell, most sec teams would be fine if the Nichols St coaches listened to he play calls cause they still wouldn't be able to stop it. We are soft up front and there isn't going to be much the coaches can do besides change personnel.

Reflecting on coaching . . . .

I am a member of the Falcon Board, have been since its inception. Do not post, I read.

Last season the board wanted to tar and feather the head coach. Talk was about the head coach being the "wrong hire". Don't believe that, more than willing to copy and paste.

First game this season against Tampa . . . . how in the world could the Falcons lose against a team that the membership has choice words to describe Tampa . . . .

Seems the board now thinks they have found the "key" to the "kingdom" in their recently hired head coach.

Might want to check out what has occurred with our recruiting and where the "emphasis" is being placed in the article below. Recruiting "emphasis".

Sad day for UGA Football when at the last minute they travel North of the Mason/Dixon Line to hurried find someone to fill the left tackle slot. Missing link at left tackle, yep. At least the current coaches reached out to fill a hole that they knew existed.

Coach Smart told everyone that would listen that our football team first off had no leadership, if that is the case, any of you that played or understand the game know the importance of leadership. Have said before, leadership touches all of us in every aspect of our lives . . . . Family, Business, Football.

Personally looking for areas of improvement until the "calvary arrives". The UGA Fort was left in the same situation as Iraq is in now because of a lack of "leadership".

i've got no problem with our head coach. I just don't like Chaney, and I think he was a mistake.
I'm a member of the Falcons board as well and I know that people there wanted OC Mike Shanahan's head last year. I wasn't one of them.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Do not think for a minute that I don't have many of your thoughts Wartdawg, know you understand that.

There are storm clouds ahead . . . . Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech. Hate saying it but . . . . there will be more discomfort among all of us again.

Going to stand on the stump until I am blue in the face. Fix the offensive line. Stop the talent flow from Georgia to Alabama basically. Alabama meaning Auburn and the Tide. If Coach Smart can accomplish "some or most" of that, there will not be too many days like the one against Vandy.

Our team is not being solely beaten by poor coaching, there is in my mind an underlying factor. Do not believe every player has bought in to the coaching change.

For a long time I praised #73, talking about a couple of years. Best lineman I had seen wearing the Red and Black in years. There was a lot of talk about #71 while he was here, he did not come close to being the offensive lineman that #73 was, not is. Go out of state to find a left tackle. Not sure about the center position from the get go. #73 moved to right tackle, very clear he is a guard.

Chaney could be a mistake, but I know this . . . . he will be our offensive coordinator in 2017.

I personally feel that Jacob Eason had no idea just how tough the change would be from high school to college, especially the SEC. The SEC is a war every week.

Coach Mason in my opinion should be coaching at another university that continually brings in upper level talent.

Just hoping you don't blow a gasket Wartdawg, mean too much to college football talk.

Say this, spent a long time concerning myself with offensive and defensive lines, anyone reading this board regularly knows that. Offensive line has taken up much of my thought time for several years. HERE IT IS . . . . Mark Richt was in charge for too long and we, plus the current group of coaches are paying the price.

I sincerely believe that our best chance of being more than a thought or expression of winning the East, as was the statement of choice by Richt, we now have a group that sets their sites much higher. Will they reach them? Beats the heck out of me. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

One more thing . . . . Anyone on this board believe that Mike Bobo did not know in advance that Mark Richt was going to be released/fired, take your choice. Stop with this . . . . rats tend to leave a ship when problems develop. Becoming very evident when I look around at what is being said, not here other sites, and the BS is rising. Supposed FANS that do not have a clue as to what is going on in Athens. Here is the answer . . . .THE MESS LEFT BEHIND IS BEING CLEANED UP.

Not knowing exactly how every member thinks on Dawgs.com, will add this.

Too many teams in the SEC have reached much higher goals than we have in recent years. Many of the supposed FANS seem to forget the last time UGA was the National Champion.

What has happened over those years is at best a testament to the total lack of understanding of how to “build a team”. Those couda, shouda, wouda’s do not carry any weight when looking at “our program” over those years.

Have read on this board a certain allegiance to VD. That is ok if that is all you know or have researched. After VD, what happened? From where I sit, a lot of excuses.

Came a time when UGA either put up or shut up. Say this for McGarity and rarely do I agree with him . . . . He put up. Props for him on the hiring of a head coach with what some of us call “brassies”.

Have read where some think that the deal to get Sam Pittman relied on hiring Jim Chaney. Allow me this . . . . could be. Also allow me this . . . . I do not believe for a minute that Kirby Smart will “hesitate” to make “needed changes”. Open for discussion on that point.

I am of the belief that Coach Chaney is trying his best to protect Jacob Eason. He knows what he has is not fully developed. From where I sit, that is a point in Chaney’s direction. We now know that Eason does not have “real wheels”. With the current offensive line that quite frankly is nothing short of a crumbling wall that allows no protection for Eason. The best blocker I have seen on our team is our fullback. One of those walkons that “wants” to play for the current staff. Too bad others failed to live up to their “star ratings” not showing that they deserved their “stars”. #77 is our best lineman, period.

When our tightends find time to get open, looks real good. If our tightends did not have to masquerade as offensive lineman, we could well be better than 4-3.

At this point in time we are committed to a pro style offense. Rookie at quarterback and no help up front. So, what can be accomplished . . . . probably a 4-3 season at this point, with dark clouds looming.

Hard to change what has happened in the past x number of years, many choose different years. Boils down to this for me . . . . bring in the strong offensive and defensive lines and much will change. UGA will always get top high school running backs. Someone has to block. Offensive line will change a lot in 2017, that I "know" takes time. Going to take "some" patience.

Buc, my thoughts on this staff after the ole miss game were not very high. Mainly because we simply didn't look ready to play, and personnel that was on the field. The more I watch, the more I almost feel sorry for this staff. I have seen some bad o-lines in recent years. I have seen nothing that compares to what we are seeing right now. Its not a knock on any of the coaches. Doesn't seem there is anything they can do.

Chaney is a good football coach. Started as a pass happy coordinator and has transformed into more of a pro-style coordinator. Urban Meyer sought out his advice early in his coaching career to learn more about the spread offense Chaney was using at Purdue. Lane Kiffin hired him as his offensive coordinator at ut. Turned crompton into an all sec performer while producing a 1,400 yard rusher his first year. Offensive numbers continued to increase at ut under his guidance. Went to ark, and produced 2, 1,000 yard rushers in back to back years. He guides one of the greatest passing attacks in college football history, and years later produces 2 players that pass the 1,000 yards rushing mark. Let's also not forget how horrible arkansas was before he started there with Bilema.

What does that tell you about Chaney? He is capable of adjusting to what talent he has. My guess is this is why Pittman joined him. And maybe I am wrong. Maybe he is totally stupid when it comes to playcalling, and has just gotten extremely lucky for the last 20 years, but I am going to give him a couple of years to prove that to me. Especially considering what he is working with up front. I mean think about this. The damn Georgia Bulldogs, our team, need imaginative play calls to move the ball on Nichols St and Vandy.

GO DAWGS- better toughen up quick, going to have to be able to run against uf, or it will be another long day.
