I think the lesson from this game is that we got a wake up call that nothing less than excellence will do. We were far from excellent in the Nicholls game, and it showed. I say "Good!" It's too easy to pass off a game like this as an easy win, forgetting that the other guy is looking to make a statement. I think I would rather chew glass than be part of Monday's practice session, but this is what you need to do to reinforce the message that every game is a championship game. Complacency kills seasons, and we have a long history of this crap. I have no problem with Kirby chewing ass when players screw up. Anyone remember last year when our defense decided that wrapping opponents when tackling was too much trouble? How do you think CMR handled that? I'll bet everyone got hugs and cocoa. Screw that. Time for expectations to rise, Dawgs. Time to let kids know that excellence is expected on EVERY play. Drop a ball, get your ass chewed. I'll bet you work hard not to repeat. Just saying.
"The freedom of individuals to verbally to oppose or to challenge police actions without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."
