MR said we here at UGA are about more than just playing the best player at the best position.

Pretty sure he said that earlier on in the same interview when he said we were about much more than winning actual football games. :silly:

WD, I like Bauta as well and totally trust Buc's judgement but we really don't know whether he's been given a fair shake or not (even seemingly). As we all know there are alot of variables playing the position at this level versus HS.....it is probably more mental than physical. I have no clue, not privy to practices. With as much money as there is on the line these days, I would think CMR, Pruitt, Bobo or any coach would play the best player.

Do you think Rome has had a fair shake?.....or is Blazevich simply better?

If my head was on the chopping block, you better believe I play the players that give me the better chance to win AND keep my job....$3.2M ain't chump change.

Spot on wlayton. I don't like CMR. However, no WAY he doesn't play the best player in his opinion. No WAY. The fact he is such a strong man of faith lets me know he simply would not allow the better player to sit the bench in order for him to prove a point.

CMR is too strong a Christian to be that childish.

I think it is simply Bauta doesn't fit what he wants to accomplish and therefore, in the CMR "system", he doesn't think Bauta is as good.

We can all bash CMR for play calling and what not, or special teams, or time-management. I refuse to think he is a lane Kiffin deep in his soul. CMR would not treat young men that way.

His opinion may be the wrong one, but CMR doesn't decie things like who plays based on politics.

I'm sorry, but I can't take this one...

"The fact he is such a strong man of faith lets me know he simply would not allow the better player to sit the bench in order for him to prove a point."

Why in the name of God's green uncle does him being a man of faith indicate he would not put
a better player on the bench? At the very least his faith does not guarantee he is always the best judge of which player is best, and his disciplinary tactics prove he will sit better players if he has some sort of point he wants to make.

All people have flaws..including great men of faith. Their faith does not make them immune to
the pitfalls of egotism or anything else.

Even hearing about his Christianity again when defending him makes me want to cringe, and I think he has done a lot of things based on politics.

I need to step away from this for awhile. .. the good Christian man argument is one that just
raises my dander.

That's all true wlayton, but if Bauta is worse than Ramsey looked then we went into this season woefully unprepared and Richt's QB secession plan even that much more of a joke.

Those who are convinced richt and bobo always play the best player must have forgotten that Tereshinski started over Stafford and the only reason Stafford became the starter was that JT3 got injured. Also Moreno was redshirted a year and was 4th on the depth chart behind Brown, Lumpkin, and Ware and only started midway through his 2nd year due to varying degrees of injury to the other 3. So either richt does it on purpose or his talent evaluation isn't very good.
And the man of faith garbage really is getting tiresome.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
