Questionable Thoughts About 2013, and Beyond

I agree. I am sure Bobo did allow AM to check, but I am also sure there was a game-plan that listed checks against defensive looks. There also had to be a play Bobo installed for AM to check to. I don't remember seeing AM lining up bottle caps in the dirt and drawing routes. Sure he could have told them in the huddle, except for we don't huddle most of the time. Good coaching happens during the week so you can trust your players on gameday.

In our league, you have to be complete. Look at A&M. One of the best offensive players to play college football. They had weapons all over the place on offense. However, there defense was terrible. You have to have a defense to compete for titles in this league, and we don't have one. Talent on defense? Definitely. Coaching?? Haven't seen it. Motivation?? Special teams?? If we had an above average defense this year, and solid special teams, wonder what our record would have been?

I don't think Bobo is as good as anyone in the country, nor do I think he is sub-par. I don't really know
how else to put it.

It's really hard to say definitively. We have had so much offensive talent that we were bound to be a pretty
successful offensive team. Stick AM, Gurley, Bennett, CC, JSW before injury, etc with any somewhat competent
OC and they would probably move the ball and score points.

The only thing I can say about Bobo is there are still times when we lapse into way too conservative, play not to lose
mode.... but who knows who is at fault there. Could be Bobo... could also be that's the way MR wants to play
whenever he has a lead, because lordy knows MR is not an aggressive go for the throat sort of guy.

The O-line... sorry, but there is a consistency issue there and not one single guy I would call a road grader.
There were many, many times when there wasn't much of a hole for our RB's. Our O-line though as AD5 noted isn't
as bad as the results sometimes made it seem. I mean as in not god-awful. They just seem to lack a certain aggression
and consistency, and once again a lack of aggression might just be something that flows from the top down. Will
say this...for whatever reason, we have a legit Heisman candidate named Todd Gurley that probably isn't going to even sniff
New York City on Heisman award night.

Regardless.... let a new voice at HC sort it all out, because Mark Richt certainly isn't sorting out anything.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Can see that wart. Going to make a statement, and hope it doesn't come off the wrong way. We do have offensive talent, but a lot of it was hurt for most of the season. AM is the best UGA qb I have seen. Most talented. No. Believe before injury he was a 3rd rounder at best. Hearing now that he may not even hear his name called in the NFL draft. Gurley, first rounder. Don't see Bennett, Mitchell, or JSW as draftable at this point in their career.

Again, not saying those guys aren't talented, but sometimes it seems all we want to give credit for their success is the talent. We have 1 for sure 1st rounder according to scouts, which judge talent for a living.

Hope I didn't come across as bashing the players, but believe many see our stats the offense puts up and just assumes it is littered with NFL talent. It could be, but if the draft happened tomorrow, our offense would be lucky to have 4 names called.

Ad5. Good to hear from you in the new year IMO. CMB. made himself into a good OC

If we had just a SEC respectable defense we would be hsving a different conversation

About CMB's capabilities. Did having AM and his experience help CMB you bet

Less not forget as you have pointed out much of AM talent was developed in part by CMB

If all it took to win a NC is a lights out offense then we may have had different teams playing

For the NC last night. Possibly ? Go Dawgs

Wart, also agree on the last sentence. For CMR to watch those defenses last night, and think his defense remotely plays with the same passion. Instead, he is bringing CTG back. My guess is he knows the heat isn't all the way turned up on his job. Guessing he is waiting until the heat is all the way up to get rid of CTG to take the pressure off of himself. To bad Mac and other cant see that.

Need all 3 phases of the game....FSU has it and deserves to be number one. Imo, if FSU and AU played again, FSU wins by 17.

We only have one of the 3 phases (exception would be Morgan had a great year as long as they could snap it to the holder), so our record was probably maxed out only because of AM and the offense.

Great conversation.....obvious that AD5 PLAYED at that level and that WD has great perception as well.
