Buc, this post may be one of the more educational posts put on this board. there is so much "stuff" that goes around on a daily basis, that it is easy to get lost in the weeds. Those articles are extremely helpful in seeing the "forest" not just the trees.
I had lost track of the fact that 9 of those guys from 2010 never made it to UGA---that is absurd.
What does UGA do going forward? I think it has been said by you and others that CMR isn't a visionary. (Just look at what a visionary did in ONE year at Auburn). We have a QB who is begging for the hurry up in 2014 (remember how AU gave teams fits), but we both know we will use it sparingly. Can you imagine going against Gurley/Marshall in the 4th quarter if we are running play #80??????
No matter who we bring in, that person will be told to "calm down, take it easy, play by the system"..........he will be neutered.
I will say it: CMR being fired is the only solution. If that isn't gonna happen, then it's time for the President to step in and fire the AD.

If we have a team full of guys who can't remember the safety responsibilities in cover 2, then it wouldn't surprise
me in the least if they forgot the date of their birthday.

BulldogShannon, last time you were here, (quite a ways back) think I accused you of being a visionary . . . .
They tried what you refer to in this sentence on AM. head coach is, and has been a "second stringer" both playing and coaching during his "million dollar career".
No matter who we bring in, that person will be told to "calm down, take it easy, play by the system"..........he will be neutered.
Kirby Smart will come if those with the power step up right now. Probably our last chance to get Kirby. Soon he leaves for another university, and then the excuses start to flow. mark richt is not a competent head coach in the SEC, doing the same thing that grantham just did. Follow the money.

One thing that has really bothered me for a long time wlayton. Cover two is run in high school at a high level, most schools in Central Florida and South Florida use variations of the cover two. Defensive coordinator is hung around Willie's neck and he professes to be a cover two teacher. Never have I understood that move.
This won't be too long. If your head coach is a quarterback in college and the pros, regardless of the fact he never got to play, but did sit in on the meetings, how is it that he could allow someone for so long act as if he understood how the cover two works . . . . that ain't on Willie, that is on mark richt.
I used to scream about the power VD had in Athens, and he had power. Does not come close to what I am seeing our head coach get away with now. mark richt is totally a Bobby Bowden made over. mark richt does not have game. If he does not give up the head coaching position, he will be rated lower than I rate Jimmy Carter, the flaming liberal, that is as deep as the deepest section of the Pacific/Atlantic Oceans floor.
Sorry, old fart got lost again . . . . However, college football and politics don't differ. Point is being proven in the Classic City.

I don't think there is a coach in CF that would give up his job just like that.....
1. CMR probably still thinks he can do the job, he's had some success in the past and thinks he can do it again.....that's inbred in most athletes/coaches
2. also don't know of anyone that would just walk away from THAT lucrative of a job and really can't blame him for that
3. imo, he's planning on fulfilling his contract and retiring.
Just to walk away.....I wouldn't.
