Good post Buc.

Imo, I think the only way we win this game is if our DL gets penetration and can disrupt their offensive flow, otherwise we can't keep up with them in a shootout.

Really have a feeling that Rumph is going to prove his worth. Even with Gurley at whatever % he is playing at, cannot defensively take their eyes off of him.

Seem to remember the game in Auburn when we jumped all over them from the beginning, referring to the Cam Newton era. A start like that would be welcomed on my part. We have the same quarterback returning that played in that game, also believe AM is going to let it all hang out again. Gus Malzahn and Ellis Johnson think so too.

One thing I know, physically Auburn is not better. Can't speak for "game planning". That will unravel on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

If we score too fast and give our D no rest or time to adjust the M and M connection (Marshall/Mason) will run us into the ground. This Aubuurn team is very strong up front on the O line and has very very fast skill players. They will challenge our D especially on the edges......

wlayton and I talked about the Stanford game vs Oregon this past week and how much we enjoyed it..

Watching Stanford deal with Oregon's high powered O by just keeping the ball away from them was a thing of beauty. That's what most people didn't get when talking about an offense. It's not always big stats.... sometimes your best D is played by an O that will just own possession of the ball.

Agreed....plus going against the spread offenses, you need to get penetration by the DL....totally disrupts the system. Teams that beat Oregan lately penetrated and lived in their backfield.....LSU, AU and Stanford twice.

Good stuff wlayton.

Watching Chris Mayes, he is coming on strong. Bad man. Chris Wilson seems to like what he sees. I do.

Good posts everyone. I'll add my 2 cents.

1st Penny : We cannot settle for field goals ! Gotta score TD's

2nd Penny: Got to tackle - penetrate and tackle- can't be giving them highlight film with broken tackles and then a positive play. Their crowd and team will feed off that. Hit Marshall or Mason 3 yds deep WRAP UP AND TACKLE them.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

Every season, usually 3 or 4 very emotional games.
This has to be one of them.
