If we continue to run the same offense that we have for the past several years, would not surprise me to see us lose more games than many of us think we should.
In every sport there are those that come along and change the game plan. Muhammad Ali, used the rope-a-dope to beat one or two that he might have lost to. There are many examples across the wide spectrum of sports.
Not saying get away from the I-Formation, just need to make folks like Steve Spurrier and others aware of the fact that times and formations can change. You said it, just get away from the normal run of the mill football, talent is there, what about the coaching . . . . I also understand that some young players pick a certain school because of the type offense that is employed. Once upon a time it was "team" not "I". Anyone that thinks that running the football is out, check Saban and his trophies. Just saying . . . .
Buc, nail and head time. Good post. If you can keep a defensive player standing still for just a second, because he can't QUITE be sure where the ball is headed, the speed you have on offense can turn into a jail break real quick. Give IC, KM, or MM ONE STEP on whoever is covering them, and you know what can happen.
But certain "types" of coordinators just want to put force on force and see who wins. Lack of imagination has to be made up for with raw power, and that drains resources real quick. Michigan State weathered the storm. So did LSU. So did Boise State. We gave the game to SC, so I won't include that one. But you get the idea.
He's gotta GO GO!
