Time to start the analysis . . .

I'm with you BUC on having more than one of these backs in the game at the same time, but see it more as a variation of the wishbone and I formation rather than what we see from time to time in college football. I see more of a two back set with a back in the slots and used on a fly pattern,or other variations across the middle, but something quick hitting never the less. It could be deadly, we have all the ingredients. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief, good thought. One thing that can be done from the "wishbone" is send both backs downfield, still leaves the "fullback" in for protection. Glad you mentioned "slots" and "fly patterns". You might like looking at the link below. :)

Edit: Too much talent to remain on the same path. Bothers me when I see SEC ready players on the sideline. Our defensive changed course when CTG replaced WM. Time for a change on the other side of the ball. Give Steve Spurrier something to think about. Just thoughts . . . . :)

Buc, Great posts.
The success of our offense will come down to the success of our running game.
Simple as that.
It will also take some of the pressure off Murray, allow him to play within himself, if that makes any sense.

Hell yes! Makes sense to me averagedawg. If the defense can make changes, why can't the offense . . . . not throwing stones, just really tired of seeing talent wasted. Sometimes the defense has better material than the offense, if a DB or Safety, or linebacker knows what to expect or can "read close action" then much is lost on the offensive side. :)

Why can't we get the ball into the hands of all our playmakers. I agree with spreading out the field and let our speed in open field make defenses pay. Do you remember when Spurrier and UF would dink-dink-dink down the field until he had a one-on-one matchup he liked and then went deep. Hitting receivers on short, controlled passes not a lot different than running the ball.

After a little thought and after drawing a couple diagrams, what I have in my head I see more closely resembles the old single wing formation than anything else, with the exception of using the back in the slot between the tackles and ends on one side or the other, with one back directly behind the QB and the other back a couple steps to right or left and the QB either under center or in a shotgun, whereas in the traditional single wing the shotgun was the norm. In my mind it opens the possibilities for some confused defenses.
