Time to start the analysis . . .

This game should be 50+ to 0 (in favor of the dawgs), and I will be disappointed if it is not. Agree with Wylaton that 1st team should play majority of the game. With nest game being Missou, an away game, and their SEC game, UGA had better strap up their boots tight. Only way to get that done in a short period of time is to have game time experience.

Don't think we will score 50+ but we should IMHO. Our offense needs to feel good about itself. Hey coaches - take the leashes off and let the boys play!

Buffalo has not seen anything close to what our D is like. If anything, we should get some playing time in for 2nd and 3rd teams on an already seasoned defense. Only place we are thin is in the defensive backfield. Their QB will take some shots at us, but we will tighten up. I want the "goose egg" CTG!

Go Dawgs.

TN Dawg, I agree with you. I think the offense will probably need more practice on timing and execution. The D just needs to make sure they stay on their assignments (NO BLOWN COVERAGES) and be disruptive! We should probably sub a lot on defense, since I think we are going to need to go through the ranks this year.

I'm most intrigued by the Buffalo RB. 1400 yards rushing on 306 attempts is a LOT of toting that rock, and with a pretty good average per carry. 13 TDs ain't nothing to be ashamed of either. Also, you would think those WRs should be hauling in more than 600 yards a piece - the shortest of the two is 6'4". I'm sure our D will not have any trouble with them, but I sure hope we don't get over confident as a result. Mizzou is a completely different animal. We go from a house cat to a tiger in one week.

To all, thanks for talking xs and os. It's the dreaded off season and I'm needing it.

A while back the UGA coaching staff were sending you and I a message about their intentions on offense this season. I expect to see several young men getting carries and allowing the offensive line to fire out rather than lay back on their heels. Offensive line plays together, stays together, UGA visits the past when running the ball with fullback help produced many a quality win. Missouri will be all over this game with their scouts.

Buc, you're right . . . Mizzou will be watching game film and dissecting as much as possible. On the O-side, I doubt if we'll show too much. And from last year, I don't think the offense will need to be overly complicated even against Missouri. Their D isn't their strength. Play good ol' vanilla offense in game 1, great execution and timing, simple plays and overpower Buffalo. One game at a time. No injuries. Arrive in the Show Me state and show 'em.

thriller, from coach speaks and numerous folks watching this group closely, most have been and are in agreement that we have to get the offensive line some work.

Still believe and said a long time back that the UGA offensive line is facing in practice what many think is a top 5 defense. Having played the game, understand well the timing, not only from lineman to lineman, linemen to backs. Here is where I wish AM were calling more of the plays on field without sideline help. Just a thought.

Guess there is not a problem bringing up my post. I am a great believer in "fullbacks" playing football. Call them anything or by any name one wants, I calll them "fullbacks". Personally, I call them "bad you know whats". Mean so much to football, and somehow the position has been pushed back.

Some on this and other boards are going to think that I am crazy with the following statement, could very well be right. Think about it as I have since we have had a couple of signings that most approve of.

Would love to see Mike Bobo/Mark Richt use the "wishbone" with the players that are available this season. IC, Marshall and others in the running back(s) position. Quayvon Hicks and Richard Samuel and others in the "fullback" position. Don't forget that AM has "wheels" and can "chunk" the football.

If ever a team had the parts to get away from the same game that we have played for 11 seasons, this team has the parts.

Strikes me sometimes when folks talk about UGA proud moments, and usually it comes down to Herschel Walker "running the football" not many quarterbacks throwing the pigskin. Some of the most famous broadcast clips come from, and I say this with total respect, Larry Munson describing HW with the football in his hands.

This old fart can visualize IC, Marshall, Quayvon Hicks (and others) driving folks like Steve Spurrier and Will Muschamp nuts trying to defend the "speed and power" that could come from this cast. Why in my opinion should both IC and Marshall not be in the same backfield at the same time, anyone got an answer for that . . . . As a defensive coordinator, I would hate to have to defend that ground game.

Another thing to be said for using the "wishbone" . . . . makes the offensive lines job much easier. Defense has to defend the entire field, sideline to sideline, cuts down on the pass rush that we have seen too often cause our offense problems.

Just a thought folks . . . . :)
