So you didn't know that Ga Tech used to be in the SEC ?!!? What, RxCowboy didn't know that piece of college football history. Guess you need to come eat a little tofu with kentdaddy and myself and we'll teach YOU a little college football 101.
The tofu must taste better than crow.

According to the AP tab on wikipedia the following teams have won titles
Notre Dame 13
Alabama 11
USC 11
Oklahoma 9
Michigan 7
Ohio State 7
Minnesota 6
Miami 5
Nebraska 5
Pitt 5
Ga. Tech 4
Harvard 4
Tennessee
4
Texas 4
If you factor in only the AP poll
Okla. has 7
Alabama 6
Nebraska 4
Florida 2
Tennessee 2
We know LSU has 2
I'll give UGA credit for 1 in 1980.
Ole Miss won a share in 1960
Auburn won a share in 1957 and got hosed a few years ago.
For the SEC the following teams have won atleast a portion of a title
Bama
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
Ole Miss.
LSU
For the Big 8/big 12
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas A&M
This points out the difference between the SEC and other conferences. More than half the teams in the SEC start each season thinking they can win it all. The current Big 12 is second. The real sister of the poor is the Big Ten. They suck!
And yes Ga. Tech, Suwanee and Tulane were founding members of the SEC but all left after getting beaten up too much.

Actually RxCowboy, nothing tastes worse than tofu, maybe your pizza idea is a better choice.
And never a good idea to challenge kentdaddy, the man is full of trivia and knowledge of college and pro football.

You missed Colorado. Colorado finished #1 in the AP poll in 1990. GTech finished #1 in the UP poll that year.

And that is pretty much the way I see it. In fact, if we were to rank divisions, I would put it like this:
1. SEC East
2. Big 12 South
Both are brutal. SEC West is #3, of course. The Big 12 North has become an embarrassment.

The omission was intentional. With the 5th down incident and the phantom clip on Rocket Ismails game winning TD in colorados bowl game I cannot as a native of Atlanta acknowledge that travesty of football. That 5th down was a massive mulligan on the level of the Miami/OSU championship pass interference and the Jeff Green no call on walking in the G-town/Vandy game a few weeks ago.
