I coach baseball... mainly I coach hitting. This is the way I approach it: You see that white ball in
the pitchers hand? In a minute he's going to throw it in your direction. That ball is your enemy.
The ball did something very mean to you. You HATE that baseball. Think about the last time you got really mad. That baseball did whatever it was that made you mad. Now when that ball gets close enough.. I want you to remember that, and club it to death with that bat you've got in your hands.
You may only get to club it once, so make sure you get your moneys worth.
I found out quickly that works better than promising them an ice cream sandwich if they get a hit, lol
