Again, I agree with Tony.....I'm willing to give CMR one and only ONE more year as long as it is without Bobo on staff (I could live with demoting him back to QB's coach).

I would be willing to give Richt as many years as he needed IF he was making the changes we all see need to be made. To me (and many others), it's not the W/L record this year as people suggest....it's a continued path down a road that is leading us where we DON'T want to go and refusing to change course. Maybe he's getting the idea by practicing in full pads like your guy wrote, and doing some play calling. But is he willing to make these his permanent changes and be more fluid and flexible as times change? That is the barometer to me, not the fact that we are 1-4. My question to you, layton, the part of your post that I quoted--if Richt isn't willing to demote Bobo at the end of the year, where would you stand then?

Oh yeah, and only if he stops insulting the fans with "arena" type comments.

Well considering that anything that could go wrong in about half of those losses, did go wrong, I do not think that 48-16 is a terrible record. Lost some games in the time that we definitely shouldn't have lost, but also won some games that we shouldn't have won.

This is called making excuses.

I am going to be flat out honest. I am tired of people questioning CMR'r manhood. Because he doesn't pitch a fit on the sidelines and show the emotion that apparently is the only thing that makes you "strict" or "shows that you care", he has not stones and is way to soft. I don't think there is a person on here who knows the man personally, and just because he is not winning does not mean he is soft. If you don't know him personally, as men, you shouldn't just blurt out at the mouth. Who on this board knows what he does behind closed doors. NO ONE. Ever heard "Walk silently, but carry a big stick" You want him fired, you are free to your opinion and that is fine, but winning and losing has nothing to do with a coaches manhood. I seen some of the sternest, strictest coaches lose a lot of football games.

I called him soft because he is soft. He gives of the persona of being soft so that is how he is. Perception is reality. Tom Landry was composed on the sidelines, but no one questioned him.

Leadership has everything to do with someones manhood. If you have never been in a conflict situation you may not know this. Football is controlled violence based on aggression. Bambi types need not apply.

Tired of people saying he can't control discipline. How would you do it? Kick everyone off that has a discipline issue? Good luck on wins and losses then, or getting any recruits. It is that simple to transfer now. The NCAA needs to spend more time here. They need to mandate something that if you enroll in a school and get into legal trouble, you lose 2 years of eligibility and have only 1 year to play somewhere else. Or that, you can only move down once you get into trouble at a D-1 school. But instead, they spend there time worrying about punishing kid who sells his OWN JERSEY.

I never took issue with this because there is nothing new under the sun on this matter. The same things have always happened. The difference is now we have 24 hours sports news and an aggressive populace eager for their 15 minutes of fame.

Going to point out that Bear Bryant, had back to back 6-5 seasons at the University of Alabama in his prime. Boy would they have messed up if they would have fired him. Man won a couple of NC after those seasons. I am not saying that CMR is going to do that, but look at he man's records. Seriously, look at the record. Don't point out that CMR is making all this money. Well yeah he is, but I am sure adjusting to the SOL at that time, I would say Bear Bryant was making quite a bit more than the average working man at that time.

Bear Bryant was never soft and never lost the team. Even when the teams were not great they were disciplined.

Anyway, making the trip from Knoxville this weekend with the honey, who happens to be a ut fan, we have to win, or it is going to be long drive back. Not to mention, I am still hearing about last year's game.

Tell coach Richt I will help him pack.

Well I suppose based on the majority of folks here that CMR should be replaced, although I'm not one of them. I'd also like to point out that this guy, by the majority here should have been fired too:

66 5-5
76 7-5
79 8-4
84 6-5
87 8-4
88 5-6
92 7-5
00 5-7
01 5-6
03 3-9
04 4-7

PSU thinks otherwise. Dang almost 10 years an no MNC at UGA,...took Dooley 16, and we kept him,....hmmm I get it. I honestly do not think that CMR is going anywhere for a long time, unless he chooses to do so. I honestly think he will win a MNC while at UGA. That is my belief, my opinion. Opinions are like that, everybody has one, entitled to one, he's my coach at UGA and I support him, if you think I'll listen to bad mouthing and sit idle, nope. Kinda like family, you bad mouth one you bad mouth all. That said, I do not think he is perfect, course others may be, but I'm sure not, nor is he or any of the staff at UGA.

Paterno is there because he is a fossil and the team is no longer relevant because of his hubris and refusal to step aside.

No one is bad mouthing. Point out deficiencies that are true is called being honest. Richt does not have the mental make up to win a national title. Teams/employees/troops etc. take their lead from the people who lead them. If the leaders are perceived to be soft then too the followers will be.

You guys can keep comparing old records but it does not change the fact the program peaked in 2005 and has been is serious decline every since.
