What’s that they say about never selling a car to a relative?

We have feelings that CMR never chews out CMB how chances of him calling out a relative?

Go Dawgs!

A little background . . . Brad and CTG probably know each other . . Just think that Brad's name needs to go into the pot for a look see. If it is allowed. Lots of folks out there that can improve on what we now have.

In 2003 he won the NFL's "Quarterback Challenge" competition, in which he beat Pro Bowl QBs Tom Brady, Matt Hasselbeck, Jeff Garcia, Mark Brunell, Marc Bulger and others like Byron Leftwich and Joey Harrington in a skills competition with four parts involving accuracy, speed and mobility, long distance throw, and "No Huddle."[3] Former teammate Sean Salisbury said that despite having big, strong arms and a great deep ball, Brad always played it safe and went for the fast and easy completion which earned him the nickname "Checkdown Charlie" among friends.

Getdown11, the first line in your post leads me to ask this question.

Where do you come up with the number of years that UGA should continue at the current pace?

Not nipping at your heels, just sounds a lot like some of the comments coming out of Washington about pulling out of Afganistan in x amount of time.

Just asking, don't really think I am nuts, however, have been accused of such more than once in my life.

If I have a choice of coaches, which I don't, think I would choose Saban over Richt.

You guys are nuts for calling for CMR's head. I know I'm probably going take a lot of flak for this but I'm with Richt for at least another 2 seasons.

After reading the above again, I draw from your statement that you are willing to stay on this path for more than 2 years, you did say at least . . .

Buc,

I guess I should have been more clear. I am willing to stay on the path only given there are progressive results on the field. I expect much better by 2012.

It also depends on how much these guys progress. I can take a losing season this year but if the team shows improvement every year the next 2 seasons then yes I'm willing to stay the course a little longer.

Getdown11, I went back for the second or third time and read your original post in this thread. I am not really changing my stance, but you make some really good points, and I know that your heart is in what you say. Sometimes, especially so close to a disappointing loss, we kind of . . . can I say this . . . flip out. I do, and sometimes I have to go back and say to myself . . . . what was I thinking . . . . for example I have read everything that you have posted on this site, and you are damn good. (Just a little confused about the coaching thingy) B) :woohoo:

Don't know how you feel about some of the comments in your thread, but it has been another good one. wlayton and the boys had one not long ago. I like good, solid football talk, and of course the back and forth. This will pass, but there are dark clouds ahead and those that don't recognize this should get their heads out of the sand. Just too many things left of center to make UGA whole again.

One of our top posters lives in Tennessee and has been through a lot this past year. If we beat Tennessee, even though I live in Florida, going to put his name on a stake in one of my flower beds and paint it orange, or urange. Don't like orange, see too much of it down here. Have some of the local UF folks (friends) say to me, why don't you move . . . . I say, want to hang around long enough to see UGA kick UF again . . . .OK, here I go Getdown11, might need a coaching change. . . . . keep posting dude, you are NUTS, also. B) :woohoo:

Hey Buc thanks. I love this site and didn't realize that I would stir up so much conversation. I love solid football talk too. When I get together with my buddies and start talking football my fiance rolls her eyes and makes herself scarce. :) I also see the clouds but think the sun will shine again on the Dawgs under Richt. I guess I'm NUTS too. :P

I have a bunch of buddies that are Auburn fans and boy am I hearing it from those guys. I hate where the program is at the moment but believe that it can and will be fixed. Getting rid of WM is a good start even though it may not seem like it now. I look back at the games we lost the past 3 or 4 seasons and I think maybe 3 or 4 of them were due to poor offensive performance. It will take time for this D to be solid.

I am disappointed in the O-line performance but do honestly believe that stacking the box against us made it difficult to get a run game going plus it put pressure on AM. I think any DC in the country would take their chances against a redshirt freshman QB with no proven wideouts. It also didn't help that Bobo seemed to have his head up his butt at times. Seriously, 3rd and 4 and we go deep? Reminded me of when Zier was here and it would be 2nd and 2 and we are going for the long ball with Hearst in the backfield and Davis on the bench.

CMR's leadership seems to be in question. I agree in certain respects. The whole WM fiasco was too long in coming. The last half of this season and next will be the true test of CMR's leadership. I hope he can right this ship. The game this Saturday will be gut-check time for the Dawgs.

As for the X's and O's...I think we have lots of matchup problems on the defensive side of the ball. I think cornerback play is sold. The LB's could be better in coverage. I think Gamble is the star of that corp. Houston needs to step it up. Don't get me started on the safties. The D line is a work in progress. All this was expected though so I don't want to ride them too hard. I will however call out Rambo. I think he is the last guy on that squad that needs to be running his mouth. That is all I'm going to say about that.

On offense I think AM is doing a stellar job. Would like to see more designed bootlegs get the short and intermediate passing game started and get Orson Charles more looks. I think Durham can be the Wes Welker of UGA. I think this will open up the running game. King and Ealy just need to hold on to the damn ball.

I would like to say all of this can be fixed by the end of the season its just going to be more painful the any of us expected. At any rate I'll be watching the game in Greenville with my soon to be in-laws who are Clemson fans. God I hope the Dawgs win.

Go Dawgs!!!

Getdown11, I am partial to AM, watching him play in high school, had to marvel at his composure. Seems as if he has been the one guiding light on this football team.

Many articles were written about AM, most of them referring to him being a redshirt freshman, and the other players were going to have to help him through this year. Not what I have witnessed.

Walsh missing a FG. That gives me thoughts of just how low the morale is on this team. Probably does not have anything to do with the morale, just one persons opinion. Little things that bring potential good teams down.

It is almost like the coaches have put too much time on the young guys and left the older players hanging out there. We have football players, just can't put up with the coaching and player miscues that are proving destructive to the team and supporters of the Dawgs.

Here is hoping that you have a lot to shout about in South Carolina. Really don't want to lose to UT.
