Richt is trying to do something. I am sure that he is trying to use some "ploys" to get something rolling in the right direction. He has too. Can you blame him? The man is trying to get this thing going in the right direction. All in all, this league is about dominant defenses. I realizes that UGA offense has underperformed to say the least, but we have a new Defensive scheme, and the play hasn't been very good. Offense has to help the D and the D has to help the O. Not happening right now, but believe it could. We all loved CTG and they just haven't gotten adjusted yet. You have to give Richt and Grantham another year together in my opinion, or what was the point in bringing him on.
Looking at stats, Dungy career coaching record- 139-69 (54-42 in Tampa) Gruden 95-81 (57-55 in Tampa) Dungy had hall of famers on offense, and Gruden had hall of famers on defense.
Last post on the thread. I can understand were the frustration is coming from. I am frustrated myself, but I think the man should get 1 more year. Others differ and I can understand their point of view. My opinion is that it has nothing to do with him being "soft" Man has never changed his demeanor. Won a lot of games and I am going to remain respectful to the man whether or not he is winning games. Played for a coach in college that never lost his cool in a game. Never embarassed a player, or coach in the eye of the public. Strongly believed in the Lord, and will end up having more wins than any coach in D2 history. Great man. Guess many would call him soft because he never showed emotion. We made it to quarter's my redshirt freshman year, where we were torched by Valdosta State. Then, we struggled for a couple of years, and that struggle continued after I left. Last year, got beat in the semi-finals by Grand Valley. He brought the program back.

AllDawgs5, this thread has so far been and is about differing opinions. As has been said throughout, everyone here pulls for our team, some just differ as to how.
wlayton, kentdaddy, sadlerdawg have said, and I believe them and others are right when they say Richt will be here another year.
New AD is not going to box himself in with moves to clean the slate right away. There is a reason that he was hired for the job, and it sure will not be to take rides in autos and clutch red panties. He came from a program that is as bad off the field as ours. Maybe worse in some cases. There will be changes, and changes are needed. This kind of thing is not new to Mac.
I don't really care who the head coach is, I do care about positive results.
Not calling Richt soft, trying to say that he has somehow let the train get off of the tracks.
AD with the panty escapade did not help either Richt or UGA once it was out for all to see. When we have a possible recruit with the talent that IC has, come out publicly and say he has us running #2 now because of the way our program is run both on the field and off, causes me some concern about the future. Also, let us call it like it is, not like Bama has not had problems also, this year and other years. What Bama does have is a victory first coach that does not make excuses or use gimmicks. He is winning the war, not the battle.
There are several of us that can speak of our football background, not just watching, playing the game. I appreciate your feelings for your coach, my high school coach was more to me than a coach, more like a father. My coach last played for UGA in 1945. Al Jeffrey.
AllDawgs5, most of the current staff will be back next year, don't think all will. Look forward to a melding of the coaches that transforms into a group of young and older men that make all of us proud.
Know quite a bit about Tampa Bay football. Have been through the wars on their site. The man really responsible for building that team was one Sam Wyche, a product of the State of Georgia. What happened to Sam is basically what you are saying about Richt. I understand that. The difference is that Richt has had a lot more time than Sam had with Tampa Bay. Tony Dungy was the recipient of Sam's incredible recruiting. Jon Gruden was the recipient of TD's hard work. Jon understood offensive football, Dungy's main downfall.
Say this one more time, Richt has a brother-in-law that is perfect for the OC job at UGA. Led Tampa Bay to the Super Bowl win. Brad Johnson, would be perfect for UGA and guarantee you, we would score points.
