I'll stick up for Coach Richt

Gonna make this as simple as I can. I want Richt to remain the coach for at least another year. I know there are many out there wanting him gone, and I can't disagree with the product on the field, lately. I am going to stand behind him as long as he is our coach. I disagree with some of the things he does, but I am not going to call for his head.

Couple of things I want to point out. UGA is not bama, need to quit comparing that. Unrealistic. I love the Dawgs as much as anyone, we will never have the tradition that they have. Saban is the best recruitor is college football. To me, unless we are going to hire someone who has a proven record in college football, what are we gaining? Everyone says Peterson from Boise. I believe he signed a nice contract with Boise that we would have to buy out on top of buying out Richt.

Frustrated, but not giving up. GO DAWGS

I think you have to give CTG time to get HIS players into HIS system. He's playing with WM's players. Even Saban's D his first year was awful......remember they went 7-6 and lost to La Monroe. Remember, CTG also has two very good assistant's in Lakatos and Belin. Other than Boykin and Smith at corners, Lakatos has no DB's worth a darn. Belin has always been a great LB's coach.

Gotta give him a chance......

Agree.

Also, going to be interesting to see how "Rambo" performs against UT. He spewed, now it is time to back that talk up. Hope he learns to tackle and not take time off on the playing field. Time off, his words about his play against Carolina.

I gather from that comment that you think others are giving up. There are a lot of folks out here that are frustrated, and more importantly not giving up. Understand that is your position. Yes, many gave up before this year, and in my opinion, for good reason.

The noise that you hear from the bleachers is this . . . . We (UGA) are poorly prepared, not starting with the 2010 season, it goes back a ways.

The game that is played in Athens is a business. Not a place for excuses, both public and coaching staff.

Don't know if you were ever taken out behind the woodshed, but speaking for myself, I made every damn excuse I could from the back door to the woodshed. Soon learned that excuses don't register. Results do. That made me want to never have to make the same mistake/mistakes again.

Richt said more than once before the season started that he really "likes this group". OK, question is why . . . because you think that your years at UGA have taught you that this group is better than some or the best ever.

Richt appears to be a solid recruiter, Moms and Dads like his delivery. That is good, have no faults with that. Maybe that is his calling, not being a head coach. Don't understand why so many can not see or fathom what is happening to our team.

Like you, will always be a supporter of UGA, that does not mean that I have to agree or approve with the methods of those that I disagree with.

We are on the fast track of collapsing, not a slow boat to China. Our football team has no direction, if I am wrong, then someone explain to me the four losses with top ten recruiting talent. . . . that should not be difficult. Not looking for a lovefest, just real football talk.

Left this site and went to the AJC. Have always suspected this reporter as one of those that "looks around on the internet". This board has been discussing each and every point that he makes. Our VP in Washington did this once in a while. Job security I suppose.
