We have a excellent recruiting coaching staff

I'll make this simple and brief.

If we can recruit, we will see big success. Recruiting was the only question as the ability to prepare the teams and coach the games is absolutely not.

That is all.

Wartdawg, you said the above, not sure that I understand.

From me to you . . . . give me more.

There is no question in my mind that KS will be able to better prepare a team for games, and will be a better game day coach. He will flat out be a better on the field coach and will not bungle timeouts, not have the team prepared for pooch kicks, etc etc. We are in a much better place now in that regard... preparedness, attitude, X's and O's, time management... all of it, no problem.

So the ONLY question regarding how well our program is going to be able to perform is all about recruiting. McClendon and some of our other coaching losses were great at convincing young men to come to UGA: Especially in certain areas of the country know to produce top athletes. As long as we can still do a great job on that end, and not lose those markets; we are golden.

I was making that comment in response to the previous post made by YD1 saying KS had brought in some excellent recruiting assistants.. if they can hold up that end, we're no doubt going to finally do some serious business.

We can thank Jeremy Pruitt for stirring up the pot.
Thanks, Coach.

There are some serious posters on this board. Posters that back up their reading material with facts. I sincerely hope that this board stands tall when we all know the "others" out in cyber space will look for any thing they can and will toss at the wall to see if it will stick.

Wartdawg, thanks. You are spot on with the recruiting comment(s).

Going to be different in 2016. Speaking to recruiting. New head coach in Florida, South Carolina, and of course Georgia. We lost two excellent recruiters in BMac and Pruitt. Little was said about Lilly, but he was responsible for many good athletes choosing the Red and Black. Lilly is a quiet recruiter, does not need the noise that some employed by the AJC like to generate. Lilly will also be missed. Thanks Coach Lilly.

What I know. Tracy Rocker and Kevin Sherrer are excellent recruiters. Kirby Smart has been known to land several key players while in Tuscaloosa. Appears the coaches that yd1 mentions have the type of background that Kirby Smart is looking for. There is a reason for that. Kirby is not tossing anything against the wall to see if it sticks. Kirby Smart has a "total plan" and that includes some of the shortcomings of the previous head coach being fixed NOW.

averagedawg, the pot needed stirring as you say, and Puritt had the you know whats to do it. I also know that Kirby Smart will use a larger paddle if need be once he is settled in. Kirby did not take the job at Georgia just because he played and coached there, he is a man on a mission. Comes to Athens on a mission. Kirby understands that he is taking a job that has many out there that are and have been brain washed by the previous head coach. Kirby Smart spent too much time under a professional to allow a lot of BS to interrupt what he is setting out to do.

Soon we will see some names signing the LOI at UGA that we did not have a clue would do so. Not a doubt, there is some chatter "out there".

Trying to catch up. Busy with other things recently.

Again on the recruiting talk. Isaac Nauta said the following, says a lot about Kirby Smart and "why" he has been so successful.

“He doesn’t recruit you like a head coach,” Nauta said. “I say that because I feel he does a lot of the work in my recruitment as far as reaching out and doing all the extra stuff to show how much he wants you as a player. Other head coaches don’t do that. Here’s a guy who has a lot on his plate being the head coach at Georgia and preparing for a bowl or a national title game, but still finds the time to DM (direct message on Twitter) me or DM me back when I respond to him.”

Really have my fingers crossed for offensive and defensive line help in this class.
