averagedawg,
Just to clarify something, I think I've made mention of this in other threads, but I think I need to make a definitive, once-and-for-all statement.
I don't want my previous comments about the kids trashing the house to bleed over to Pruitt. I was specifically talking about our previous coach and his many blunders over the years - of which Pruitt was not one. To this day, however, I have a heavy suspicion that after the dumpster fire that was Willie Martinez, and the debacle of Todd Grantham, Richt was probably told who was going to be his next DC. I have a difficult time believing that CMR just went out and shook the DC tree and off fell a ripe Jeremy Pruitt. I know the allegations surrounding why Pruitt left FSU and since I cannot substantiate them and have no legitimate source that could lend credibility to those allegations, I refuse to engage in detraction on this board.
I have zero problems whatsoever with Jeremy Pruitt. This program owes him a debt of gratitude. He was the only sparkler in the whole box of duds. I was thrilled with him from day one til the last day. He was, and always will be, a DGD for his short time and significant contribution to Athens. He turned around a joke of a defense who didn't know which part of the football to grab, rescued us from the ongoing nightmare of 3rd and Grantham's and turned this D around in two short seasons. He was a great recruiter and went about his business with attitude, poise, and hard-nosed defense in the face of a regime here that didn't like much about him. I wish him all the best, and like I said, DGD.
He'll have a head coaching gig somewhere shortly.
