averagedawg,

Just to clarify something, I think I've made mention of this in other threads, but I think I need to make a definitive, once-and-for-all statement.

I don't want my previous comments about the kids trashing the house to bleed over to Pruitt. I was specifically talking about our previous coach and his many blunders over the years - of which Pruitt was not one. To this day, however, I have a heavy suspicion that after the dumpster fire that was Willie Martinez, and the debacle of Todd Grantham, Richt was probably told who was going to be his next DC. I have a difficult time believing that CMR just went out and shook the DC tree and off fell a ripe Jeremy Pruitt. I know the allegations surrounding why Pruitt left FSU and since I cannot substantiate them and have no legitimate source that could lend credibility to those allegations, I refuse to engage in detraction on this board.

I have zero problems whatsoever with Jeremy Pruitt. This program owes him a debt of gratitude. He was the only sparkler in the whole box of duds. I was thrilled with him from day one til the last day. He was, and always will be, a DGD for his short time and significant contribution to Athens. He turned around a joke of a defense who didn't know which part of the football to grab, rescued us from the ongoing nightmare of 3rd and Grantham's and turned this D around in two short seasons. He was a great recruiter and went about his business with attitude, poise, and hard-nosed defense in the face of a regime here that didn't like much about him. I wish him all the best, and like I said, DGD.

He'll have a head coaching gig somewhere shortly.

averagedawg, Jeremy Pruitt did at least one thing in his short stay in Athens . . . . Built a fire under some a$$e$ that had been sleeping since Wally Butts. Using the dollar signs $$$ because many of us know what the Group is all about.

Head Coach Kirby Smart does not kiss a$$e$. You know better than I do.

sadlerdawg came in second to you wanting Kirby Smart, what the heck, folks here "understand" what was needed. Wishes come true. Football is going to move in another direction since "someone" removed many of those that don't have the knowledge or discipline to want to "COMPETE".

Going to have a lot of fun with the "Bleeding Hearts" in 2016. There are some "newcomers" on this board now that not only understand, they are "feisty" . . . . NEEDED.

SouthernDawg, shows the difference between Nick Saban and "others". Jimbo wanted someone and Nick obliged.

Nick Saban is never more than a "whisper" away from what he "knows". Hope that makes sense.

Did not take more than a "tick on the clock" for Jeremy Pruitt to be crowned by the Master. Nick Saban does not make foolish mistakes when it comes to "moving forward". Georgia made that mistake with Erk leaving, and was NEVER asked to come back. Nick Saban understands and Jeremy Pruitt is now his Defensive Coordinator.

Difference in Nick Saban and those on this board and others that disagree . . . . VD.

Some folks can put an "edge" on a "knife" better than others. Nick Saban "understands edges". Sharpness comes with "balance". Nothing beats a good "steel" or in our case "steal". Welcome Head Coach Kirby Smart.

End with this . . . . Kirby Smart not only "understands" . . . . he will change the way the Red and Black line up on Saturdays between the Hedges and elsewhere.

Bruce Feldman in my opinion is one of the "best" when discussing the media.

Have followed him for some time, not a loud mouth, does his job and moves on.

Media needs more men that have the character and intelligence of Bruce Feldman. JMHO.

And women, game is changing. Have to be careful. My wife and daughter are head and shoulders above many that the AJC and others fail to recognize as persons that understand.

Think many on this board understand my "feelings" toward the Lady Sportswriter and her work. If not, read through my posts and others such as yankeedawg1 that read what the Lady has to say.

When it is convenient, the AJC pulls her into their area. They are so full of themselves, and I suspicion the Lady gets a chuckle or two.

Go Dawgs, so much to be said. You think? ;)

If all you fine gents want to see how business is conducted and a press conference is run, this is the type of "edge" that Buc is talking about, here's our head coach today talking to the press:

c.brightcove.com/services/mobile/streami...p;pubId=260701696001

Well worth 11 minutes of your time to hear him go at it. Cant wait to see this full time in Athens.
