"Rumors swirling that UGA is willing to break the bank for either Smart or Pruitt. Probably won’t know anything until Friday at the earliest since the job has to be posted for 5 days and was posted on Monday."

Interesting, Kirby and Pruitt have the same agent.
Seems like a win win for all three of them.
I only hope we don't get left in a lurch back at square one.

Kirby did come out a few days back and say how much he and the family enjoyed Tuscaloosa. Don't doubt that, but remarks like that are often made just before pulling up roots and moving.

Have to say this, as it has been said to me.

Kirby Smart was a bit upset with the actions of some in the Iron Bowl. Not players.

Come on home Kirby, it was also said to me that what happened in the Iron Bowl has left a nasty taste in his mouth. Come on home Kirby, we can get after Gus and his boys between the Hedges.

No major universities are looking for a head coach at this point. Behind the scenes there appears to be one that is willing to change positions.

Buc, a little more from my friend/contact....S&C coach as well??

"I think something will happen pretty quickly. Rumors are that Kirby would bring Alabama’s S&C coach as well. It will be interesting to see how this thing shakes out, but based on what I’m hearing, Kirby is a distinct possibility as is Pruitt. Of course, Kirby got close last time and backed out when Saban gave him more money."

Saban is in the process of a complete shake up/down of his staff.
He doesn't take two losses in a row lightly and maybe shaking things up keeps his edge.
Maybe Kirby is ready to step out and completely control his side of the ball at a place where he should eventually be head coach.
Assuming the bucks are there.
Saban and Smart are alike in that they relish a challenge.
It's not like we don't have the pieces. We just need somebody to put 'em together.

Amen averagedawg.

Not to rule out the possibility of mark richt stepping down.

That would be like winning the lottery, Buc.

Know that you and your better half are very much into the healthy aspect of many.

What little I get, goes like this. The Georgia faithful will not be satisfied with anyone other than Kirby Smart. He is the one person that can come into the program and have "total acceptance". My understanding is that the upper level is resigned to that fact.

Kirby can come home and have a full run of the football program, that is a must, taught to him by Nick Saban. Kirby Smart will not venture away from that advice.

Also my understanding is that Kirby and Nick had a clash of heads in the Iron Bowl. Time for Kirby to get to do what Erk was not allowed to do. I said that.

I personally think Saban is doing what he does best.

"ADAPTING"

With SEC offenses putting up record numbers, he realized his team needs some change and now with McCarron leaving it is a great time to expand his offense and tune up the defense.

That has always been my major complaint about Richt, his refusal to adapt and change. Same ole Same ole rarely works forever.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

If that is the Lotto, I'll buy the ticket.

Just to toss something out to hear your thoughts. In my "theoretical" world, let's say Smart wants to come. How would you feel if this scenario works out:

1. KS wants $1.75 million per year, 5 year guaranteed.
2. He wants to be named Assistant coach and he is given in writing that IF the UGA job becomes available, he gets the job.
3. He wants to bring his S&C guy.

Now, what if UGA says they can't pay $1.75M and Smart leaves.

How would that make you feel? I know we have the $$ in the coffers and that is what would be frustrating. Someone from ESPN I believe it was said last year we banked $70m profit. I would be infuriated if we have that type of money in the bank but would not let go of another $900k per year.

The upside would be amazing: better recruits from Atlanta, more fan buzz, more butts in the seats=more $$ for UGA.

Thoughts?
