Wartdawg...easy my man......you are right, numbers don't lie. CMR also had those numbers against much better opponents than Donnan ever had to face.
I still don't see how you can ignore the FIVE SEC titles. You are making a case that regular seasons are comparable. Are you saying you want to judge by regular season? Not me. It's SEC titles and BCS titles for me. Anyone can go 9-3 today.
You say you were only stating that CMR wasn't that much better than the one before him...but your own numbers prove you wrong.
Also, who cares about Bowl games? 1/2 the time the teams care less anyway. Also, your own facts show a little hypocrasy. For example, I am going to make an assumption that you believe the SEC to be a better conference than the WAC.
Under that theory, can we say that a 9-3 SEC team is PROBABLY better than a 9-3 team from the WAC? If we can say that is true, then I submit to you this: CMR's 73% is betetr than Donnan's because CMR FACED A TOUGHER CONFERENCE SCHEDULE.
Finally, I agree with you that CMR is only a little bit better, but what in the hell does that mean? Who cares? I am worried about the here and now. We are in the 4th best recruiting state and we can play in ONE of the 8 straight BCS title games represented by the SEC???????? That just isn't good enough for me.
I think before we go any further, everyone on this site should state where they stand as far as what is important to them in a coaching staff. I propose 3 choices:
1. SEC/National Titles should be the goal.
2. Being a solid SEC team and as long as we are in the top half of the SEC, we are good.
3. As long as our coaches are good people in the community, nothing else matters.
I don't do this to be a comedian. It seems that we are all arguing for different things in the same posts. Some want decent teams; some want titles; some want Apostles.
For the record: I am in Camp 1: SEC/BCS Titles.
