If we win out, all is well with the program, injuries, youth, blah, blah. The ship is righted.
If we finish barely above 500 or less. Same story, injuries, youth, blah, blah.
But dog gone it, next year will be a different story.

You mean "dad gum it"....that would complete the Bowden transformation.

averagedawg, sad thing about the excuses, they get away with it. Some of us tried our best to "make believe" everything would be ok. Flew in our faces once more. Never again for me.

We are whether or not we want to admit it, creatures of habit.

Mark Richt took on the habits of Bobby Bowden, not all bad, but the football habits are leading us further down the road of not being able to recover.

Felt pretty good several games back when we had a couple of big wins, big wins no doubt. Now we look at the big wins and we see other teams beat the same universities that were so big to us.

Tennessee under "new coach Jones" has really moved that team forward, just as Malzahn has moved Auburn forward. You mention Kentucky, they are not to be scoffed at under a new coach. Ole Miss, arose from the pits with the hiring of a competent coach.

Our leaders remind me of those in Washington, don't want to talk about the real issues, figure all of this will disappear after we have finished venting. Sadly enough, that is usually the case. What the heck happened to backbone and telling the truth? Does anyone feel that Mark Richt is telling the truth when he continues to make the same mistakes year after year? Maybe he is telling it like he sees it, that then is the reason he needs to move on.

Guess I am one of those that has been described as a dumb ass "tea party" type. I like to think that I am a Patriot, believe in the Constitution and follow much of what Jefferson had to say. Proudly fly the American Flag along with my Viet Nam "not forgotten flag" on my front lawn for all to see. Those strong feelings carry over to University of Georgia football. See it goes like this . . . . I remember coaches like Erk that were allowed (?) to leave, and then I look at what he was replaced with and those that allowed that to happen. Yes, I have a long memory and respect for those that deserve the same.

Sorry, those things in my head started to move around again. :)

Buc , you and I have disagreed once or twice on this board but I can safely say you are not a dumb ass. A passionate man that loves his Dawgs, Country and I imagine family as well.

You are right about coaches making an immediate impact. Jones at Tennessee will be a player, Gus at Auburn as long as he keeps a strong defensive coordinator on staff, Mora at UCLA took 2 years (but he inherited a mess). Look at the only undefeated team in the NFL, KC, Andy Reid's first year after a 2 win season.

Some set a program back but many have a positive impact right a way. Got to hire the right guy.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

36869, you will never know how much I appreciate your opening paragraph. Thank you. Back at you.

Nothing wrong with disagreements, have seen several on this board, been involved in a couple. Can truthfully say that there is not a single member here that I know a little something about that I don't have respect for.

Interesting watching Mora. Maybe he is like Saban, college is his niche. One thing for sure, lots of talent out West and if he keeps UCLA on the same learning and playing curve, trouble ahead. Like his father, very determined, sometimes almost to a fault.

When I lived in Midland, we had a mule named "Queeny" and FARMALL SUPER A tractor. Worked that 147 acres and drove that tractor and walked behind Queeny as a young man. Look back on those days, hard work, led me to other things as I got older.

Posting a link that shows the same tractor I plowed with and harrowed many acres with. Our tractor was a 1950 model. One shown in the link is a 1952 model.

Football to me was a lot easier than some of the work that had to be done on the farm. Farming at a young age aided me later on in life.

Sorry about that, like I said in another post in this thread, sometimes my gray matter leads me in a lot of different directions.

Totally off subject but I too spent a little time on the farm growing up. Spent many hours on Long (440?) tractor.
Everybody should have to spend two years on the farm growing up. The animals and crops don't care how lazy you feel that day. Your butt better be taking care of them.

Before that believe it or not spent a couple years out in Midland. Had to ride my Huffy bike to Edgewood (7 miles one way) to play Pop Warner football. Of course nobody calls it Midland anymore, just a suburb of Columbus.

Ok back to your regularly scheduled football discussion.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !
