Do want to add this. Bobby Bowden's problem was not Jimbo Fisher, it was the fat heads in administration. Bowden actually coached Fisher his senior year in college.

It was time for Bowden to leave, could have been handled differently from where I sit.

One more thing if some are not aware. Bobby Bowden coached at South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia, Coffee County.

Buc, have a client/friend that played for BB in Douglas.....has told me some good stuff about BB and still stays in touch with him.

wlayton, Bobby Bowden is a very good man, passed some of that along to Mark Richt. Respect both of them for being good people.

Honestly believe Mark's time is either here or very close to being over.

Little bit of information thought you might enjoy. Think I remember you coming from the Waycross area.

South Georgia State College is a four-year, state-supported, residential state college located in Douglas, Georgia, United States.

On January 10, 2012, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved the merger of South Georgia College with Waycross College by Fall, 2013. Early in the merger process, it was anticipated that both campuses would continue operating.[3] The merger was consummated in January 2013, and the school was renamed South Georgia State College.

Another thing that has really made me look closer at the administrators at UGA.

President Donna E. Shalala’s efforts against the NCAA show what a stiff backbone can do when standing up for your players and university.

Living in Florida, there was little doubt as to what was going on in Miami and the way football recruits were being "taken care of". There was a lot of open conversation about Nevin Shapiro and his way of influencing high school and college football players, it was called follow the money.

OK, it was wrong, don't like what happened. Has been said on this board and others many times that Mark Richt is a honorable man. I believe that.

I don't doubt that Shalala is a honorable woman. She however did not like the bullying that the NCAA guided by Mark Emmert was applying to the university and she took a stance. Emmert stepped across lines that he should not have and got his butt kicked.

My point is this. Where was the fight for A. J. Green from our administrators and coaches when he sold one jersey. Some will say it was wrong he broke the rules of the NCAA. So did Miami, and I am sure you have seen the results of Shalala putting Emmert in his place.

Universities can sell the jerseys at 50 bucks and more, that to me is wrong. Players make the number represent something, cannot however seek any reward for the enormous efforts some of the players put in to make the number a hot item.

This has been discussed on this board before, lengthy discussions. However, when folks like Emmert can make the money that they do, does not set well with me.

Where was Emmert and his gang when the Grambling Football Team spoke up and said we see others getting treated much better than we are, so let us bring this to a head.

Adams was the president at the time Green was not allowed to play for four games, did nothing like Shalala did. Adams was known for liking the finer things in life, much like Emmert. Athletic director chasing skirts in Atlanta, and our football coaches shrinking from action rather than stepping up for Green. Need more than a head football coach replacement, need to take a close look at those responsible for leading the University of Georgia.

This flare up with Grambling, small fires grow to be forest fires. Change is coming and it will be more than the head coach that has to face up.

Aw man... you ruined it!! :pinch:

I was going to start an "Off week game day thread" and the first post was going to be me screaming about off week blocking one of our punts!!

Buc, Did you see that Jackson State is going to file suit against Grambling?

Adams?? Stand up for one of our players???? Adams???????? It's not the UGA way to stand up to the NCAA. That might have given the impression we didn't respect authority. (corrupt and obviously wrong authority)

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wartdawg, actually I did. In that link there are some buttons to push that reveal a lot of interesting things that have gone on for some time.

Couple of three years back I put a link up in a thread about the pee wees playing football and getting paid in South Florida. Came close to supplying the link again.

Appears that this thread has just about reached its maximum. Been a very good thread, one of the best this season. Get a real feel for members and their views. Amazing that some of the views are 180 degrees. One butt face came up and said nothing. Crawled back into his AJC hole.
