So get rid of CTG is the answer to all our woes? Putting band aids on a gaping wound has not worked out so well.

Another little piece of not what I think I see, it is something that after watching carefully has allowed me to form this opinion.

Ray Drew was a highly sought after athlete coming out of high school. All of us know and watched that, also involved David Pollack getting involved.

Drew comes to Georgia, has fans excited. Cannot remember Garner's name being thrown around as the coach that brought Drew to Athens. Mark Richt did that.

Strange how Drew under Grantham/Garner coaching was not getting much action.

Chris Wilson comes to Athens as defensive line coach. Was at one time the Defensive Coordinator at Mississippi State. Puts on his hard hat and goes to work.

Since Wilson has been here, Ray Drew has become what many consider an outstanding player. What CW did was put Drew's hand in the dirt and taught him how to play football on the college level.

If we want to talk "sacks", Grantham's sales pitch coming from the NFL, Ray Drew is leading the team in sacks or tied in same. Grantham had him going back and forth between linebacker and defensive end. Grantham has totally confused these young players, and apparently has the head coach a little edgy.

Not letting Mark Richt off the hook. Been said before, many times, Mark Richt is a good recruiter, agree with that. Also has been said that he fails to improve much of the talent that he recruits.

So what am I, speaking for myself, to think about some of the above?

I think there is an under current in the coaching staff that needs a leader. Couple of huge egos that are refusing to man up with their lack of leadership and teaching skills. This is about the "players" and "us" not the wrecking crew that seems to be entrenched in Athens, wearing the coaches stripes.

Been around Georgia football too long to see these "young" coaches take us down a path that only leads to more turmoil between you and I. It is our hard earned money that pays these fat cats sums that at times make me sick.

McGarity, need to get the "wrecking ball" out and "use it". This is not going to get better, or go away. You supposedly were chosen to handle situations such as this. Could it be that you as a graduate of Georgia have to fall in line with the "good old boys" . . . . just asking.

Chris Wilson, here is a vote from an old timer that wants to see you leading the defense. Appears you are the only successful coach on a defense that pays its leader many times what he is worth. Would like to see you taking over today.

Ain't through by a long shot. Lots of holes from where I sit.

yankeedawg1, absolutely right about kicking the can down the road statement. Time for McGarity to show us what he is made of.

No... I don't think it solves all of our issues, but it might solve one of them.

Chances are MR isn't going anywhere, so the best thing we can hope for in the immediate future is fixing our joke of a defense.

It's triage time right now, and with MR remaining in place this problem is priority 1.

I know we have significant issues with MR, but reality says he will still be here and this is an area where positive change might actually be made.

Positive change as in Willie Martinez?

3 changes that need to made and made now or seasons end IMHO

Head coach
Offensive Cordinator
Defensive Cordinator

then let them bring in thier "people" or even keep a few of the assistants on staff now.

The whole thing is the result of a few powerful political hacks who think they know football.
The situation won't change until the big boosters raise all mighty hell and say enough is enough.
