I 100% agree w/you about everything you said about Charlie Strong & he is undoubtedly my #1 or #1A choice IF we were looking for a new Head Coach (Kirby being the only other I would want in Athens as much as Strong & obviously, Strong has already proven himself as the top dog while Kirby has not). Anyways, not sure if CCS desires to be in the NFL or not though? If not, I think he would leave Louisville for Athens quicker than the ink could dry on his contract. No doubt, he could recruit the BEST of the BEST & I don't mean top 5 class every year, I mean top 2 or 3 & yes I do feel confident that his race only HELPS him recruit today's high school blue chippers. There I go just echoing Buc again but I feel he is pretty "spot-on" in his assessment of what CCS would do for UGA recruiting.

Anyways, doesn't hurt to dream but I stand by my earlier post...I really don't foresee CMR going anywhere YET, but I do think we will be looking for a new DC very soon. As for who to get as DC at UGA: my top 3 choices (in order) are already employed by rival schools in Auburn, Blacksburg, & Baton Rouge & 2 of 3 told us NO THANKS last time...Kirby, again ain't coming for the DC job or he would be on my wish list too.

Who yall like for a DC? I say go try to steal Ellis Johnson away from Auburn, Lord knows they've stolen enough from us over the years!

Goose, love you man. When the board gets shy or silent, know that you will be here. Some subjects are too much for everyone, understandable. However, when we start jabbering about releasing someone or hiring someone mouths tend to open.

So, I am going to get to the chase. kentdaddy for the most part has called for Richt's pink slip. Never wavered, kentdaddy never played football, but he knows what is going on better than some or most that did wear a mouth piece or a face mask. kentdaddy is out there where the thin air has an effect on most folks, does not seem to bother him.

Goose, averagedawg said it best in this thread. If the University of Georgia wants Kirby Smart, get off of your butts and start making the deal. Anyone think we are going to be in a BCS bowl this season? Anyone think that it will change with the same leadership next season? What is it going to take to bring folks to their senses?

Goose, Mark Richt is going nowhere. He could leave at the end of this season and he would be remembered for some things. He however is going to make the "Bobby Bowden Fatal Mistake" and "show us" why he belongs on the football field between the Hedges and not us. VD hung around too long and made some serious hiring mistakes that still follow him. Coaches are like players, they just don't understand when it is time to hang the cleats up.

Know that I am being loud and am saying a lot. Say it again, I have only begun, know a lot of things that need to be said, shrinking violet, Buc ain't. Stay tuned there is much more and I will deliver.

Edit: Think I left this part out. Strong is an excellent college coach. Knows the game, inside and out, that includes as you mentioned, qualifies as a head coach.

Let Florida's mistake become the largest one they have made between Georgia and Florida. Do not be surprised to see Jeremy Foley invite Charlie Strong back to Florida. Foley is very close to a move. He is not like the mahogany row in Athens, when he speaks, it happens. Watch the recruits that now go to Auburn and Alabama, move south to Gainesville, Florida. There is a lot of talk among my friends on this subject, and they are positioned to get a few tidbits here and there.

If this does happen . . . . "Turn out the lights, the party is over".

Thanks for coming up Goose, know that tough "stuff" does not bother you. :)

Man... how I would dearly love Strong or Smart...
I feel both could recruit and coach us right over this glass ceiling we've built for ourselves.

My fear, and it's pretty realistic, is that MR is here just long enough for us to miss out on both of them.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wartdawg, you are just like sadlerdawg in many ways . . . . make too damn much sense sometimes.

Someone has to explain this to me, maybe you can Wartdawg.

Wonderful campus, great education, fans that are comparable to any in the college world. Great party town, facilities (close) to most universities, speaking athletics.

Too many wannabes in positions that control our football future. The same wannabes that have been around since the last NC. By that I mean this, changes in Mahogany Row are passed along, to the same DNA blood types.

Sometimes in my quiet moments (few) I say to myself . . . . Buc, does this remind you of anything that you have witnessed in the last few (many) years? Always comes back to this . . . . yes, Washington, D.C.

They move us around and tell us that is the way it is. Old gentlemen like myself that have walked behind a mule in South Georgia don't accept that.

Comes a time when things not only need to change, they have to be changed.

Ready for this? Mark Richt was a handful in Boca Raton, Florida, not the one that is the image most folks see now. So, change is good, Mark Richt had a sit down with Bobby Bowden and accepted the Christian life. That is good.

Time for Mark Richt to come to grips with this . . . . he is not in the top echelon of college coaches now. He had his run, did OK, now it is time to move over and let a "fresh face" take over the Red and Black. Many here say and have already said, that will not happen. I say to those, ok, just don't bend my ear when the Vanderbilts of the world whip you ass. Understand that is not the reason that most on this board say Mark Richt is not leaving.

Amazing how silent this board gets when we get down to brass tacks. Those that come up often, suddenly have nothing to say. After reading some of what will come forth will either pp them off or will talk "Saturday Football" and disappear when the season is over.

Any of you folks read the thread that Rdawg started on the S&C? I check it once in a while, don't see any posts. Very good article that Rdawg wants us to read. Has a lot of depth, not the same "depth" that we discuss when discussing recruiting. Just asking.

This thread has been like watching a tennis ball go back and fourth over the net

Not good but great points made

I have spoke about passion here several times over the past 3 years along with the

Fustrasion of making the same foolish mistakes over and over just how many muffed punts does it

take before you acknowledge there is a problem and as a HC take ownership of the problem and make

A commitment to fix it Buc you spoke about how the events in Athens mirror that which is

Happening in Washington It is the same thing heads buried in the sand Trust us we know whats

best and it is way to complex for your little brain to grasp

Just give us another trillion and kick the can down the road

In our case get a new DC a ST coach keep grinding and all will be fine

No Worries Be Happy

Truth changed needed to be made the day after our mess in Memphis

Nope we put a smiley face bandaid on the problem and burnt a butt load of talent

Change now or the mud will only get deeper we have heard all the excuses several times

Gift wrapped and sugar coated

Go Dawgs!

Have you folks read this little piece of whatever it is? Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator having problems. Did we not say a few days ago that there appeared to be trouble in paradise? Picked the bold print up on the internet. Others see what we see, everyone outside of the "loop" cannot be wrong. Right?

For now let's start with the most interesting one. Richt and Grantham need to just fight it out. Even before all of the rumors began to swirl yesterday, I've thought for some time now that there's been a lot of tension between the two. In my mind it goes back to January and the Philadelphia Eagles. But I could definitely be wrong about that time table. But I don't think I'm wrong about them having words. I know what I saw in Knoxville. Richt was clearly fed up with using timeouts so that Grantham could get his defense set and ready some time before the next millenium. They had words. And Richt has taken a couple occasions with the media to point out some suggestions - playing more inside linebackers, dumbing down the playbook, getting calls in quicker. I can't say for certain if those suggestions have also been provided to Grantham in a more direct manner.

Sounds as if somebody is leaving Athens. Appears to me that Chris Wilson will be our new Defensive Coordinator. Know that he likes the 4 man front, know that I do. Also appears that Mark Richt wants to protect his income. No moves made in Athens, the seat will get hotter. Administration trying to protect Richt. Someone has to leave. JMHO.
