Why we lost

Well then let me re-phrase it....

I, myself, wasn't surprised by the D.....felt we would have to outscore teams the 1st half of the season and that we couldn't stop Clemson.....just thought they wouldn't stop us either and we could outscore them.

Up to this point I've kept my mouth shut about the game last week. The only thing that I drew from all the hype and then watching the game is that all the talent in the world wont help if you have a loser mentality. Dont know how it changed from years ago, but it has. Good grief, how can that happen over such a short period of time? The punter and Todd Gurley were the only guys out there without there collective heads up their rear. They better hope they hear a loud pop when they pull their heads out soon. GO DAWGS! PIOYA

Scott-Wesley was great, and will help soften the blow from the loss of MM. In fact, we are so deep at
receiver that I am much more concerned about our ability to snap the ball on FG's than I am about losing
MM.

Hicks showed full on beast-mode... he just needs to remember he will get caught from behind
when he busts one and to make sure he hangs on to the ball accordingly.

Herrera was all over the field...

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wlayton,

I too was not surprised that the young D struggled at times, our veteran oline getting whipped thoroughly however did surprise me. Still, many good things in this game namely our punter (47 yd. avg.), Marshall (he powerered it into the endzone with a big defender riding his back), Jenkins, Herrera, Floyd, Langley, JSW really looked fluid to me, Bennett's back & catching everything, and obviously Gurleyman!

Bottom line for me, we lost to a good team that played a nearly flawless ballgame while we made 2 crucial turnovers, gave up 4 sacks, drew 9 penalties, botched a gimmie FG, suffered a huge missed tackle & lost our #1 WR & #1 RB for a combined 4-5 quarters. Given all that transpired, you wonder how we managed to only lose by 3 on the road at night???

Now I have plenty of concerns about the matchup with Carolina and we darn sure gotta play & coach much better to succeed but I also know that we got a helluva alot better team than the one being described on this & other boards the past few days. I certainly dont think we should forfeit to mighty USC (0 SEC Titles) after losing game 1 to lowly Clemson so I'll be in Sec. 326 on Saturday expecting a win and by God I really dont think i'm delusional for my high expectations...Anyways, i know I can count on you guys to tell me if i am being unrealistic :-)

Time to get up off the mat & hunker down Dawgs!!!

Have always took the time to check stats after a game. While they do not always give the "complete" picture of the outcome, they do present a good overall picture.

Notice that several players are receiving high fives and others are well . . . . fill in the blank.

Had my eyes on Ramik Wilson for a large portion of the night. Have always been a believer that he would make us proud. He did just that against Clemson, if interested in "stats".

Might want to check out the link below, if you haven't already.
