You're right Buc. We do see eye to eye a lot, but not on this one. Several bones to pick--yes, We have won the crystal, but not Richt. And as for all the coaches who were mentioned who haven't either, I think many of them are saddled with a much lower talent pool (Patterson, Peterson, Mullen--never really agreed with that one, but still) or haven't had a chance, such as Kirby. They haven't won, that's correct, but could they with our talent?
And you say something good may come out of being patient, I would counter that many of us have been patient for several years. Sure, maybe richt will win one in the next 20 years, then everyone can say "see, I told you to have faith in richt", but even Nostradamus looks like a soothsayer when you spread his hundreds of predictions over hundreds of years and a few of them come true...

Really enjoy the fact that you are back sadlerdawg. Know that you can't come up everyday as I do, however I spent my years out there, your turn. B)

We gave VD how many years? Realize that folks don't tune in to "patience" this day and time.

Question for anyone . . . .
How long would VD have lasted in this Internet World? Anyone that answers that should be prepared to answer questions like this . . . .

Why was Erk thrown to the wolves? VD liked who as head coach?

Getting away from that, the Georgia football program started moving forward again when VD was out of the picture. Yes, VD hired Mark Richt. Was that yet another mistake by VD? Check the records of both.

Have tried to stay away from too much garbage on this particular thread. You folks, most of you on this board grew up with VD and later appointments. Many of us knew that VD was not all that, but we did not have . . . . THE INTERNET.

History is a valuable tool, most or many never consider, patience and thought when looking at UGA Football. I said that.

Moving on, not sure about this team, there are issues.

Guess we just have different ideas of patience Buc. I'm not just talking winning the NC or not...I'm saying several years of the SAME issues EVERY year. Look at the last few years--can't beat ranked teams, O line gets pushed around by smaller, less experienced guys, D gives up rushing yards and points that are video game like, tackling skills are pathetic, and, well, there's just so many I don't feel like rehashing them all. Yeah, his record is better than VD's, but there is very little, if any, improvement in facets of our game that would elevate us to that elusive "next level".

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Buc, yeap I saw Richt's emotions during the Nebraska game. I actually saw it for the first time on a different level than normal after the Bama game during his press conference and I said right then that that's what our team needs to see. I have said several times that I thought CMR had made a change as far as that goes. TG has NO problem showing his passion and emotions! I'm not saying that CMR showing more passion and emotion is the answer but I think it maybe a good place to start. I believe CMR is a good coach but something is missing and it has and always will fall back on the HC.

Saban won it within his 3rd year at LSU and within his 2nd year at Bama. Meyer won it within his 2nd year at Fla. And they both recruit/recruited from the same crop as Richt. I'm a big fan of CMR because he is a great guy and he has integrity! Maybe our problem is the obvious, that in my opinion is Bobo and the lack of big time plays from AM. I'm venting more than anything because it just feels like the same ole song in the big games...

Yea I would much rather talk football talk rather than the politics of our program but that seems to be the hot topic once again...

PS- I would love to see CMR get his share of MNC with UGA. I'm NOT a CMR hater but if this season is a flop then someone has to be held accountable!

sadlerdawg, hoping I did not come across the wrong way. Both of us want the same thing. That will not change, of that I am sure.

Like you, see different things in different games, just hurts when I/We see the same mistakes made over and over.

Appears now the war cry is if JHC had been there, things would have turned out differently. It is what it is. Time to move on and all of us will see soon enough where we are in 2013.

Here is hoping that your son and the Army are doing well together. :)
