For me, I put myself in the opposing DCs shoes. How do I stop UGAs offense?
1. Pick their most potent weapon and SHUT IT DOWN. Problem with that is: what exactly IS the most potent weapon? You want your offense on the field as long as possible, so I would say shut down the RUN. Stop Gurley and make AM throw it. BUT . . . that poses a potentially even GREATER problem - AM is no rookie, and he's got WEAPONS to throw it to. Take away Gurley, and you leave TEs and WRs (and even FBs!

2. You could try to stop both the passing and running game . . . good luck guessing which one you need to focus on first. And you better hope you get it right, otherwise . . . 6.
3. Pressure Murray. Get in his FACE. Make sure you at least HIT him, even if he gets rid of the ball. If you shake him up, you might get him to make mistakes. Problem - you have to remember Gurley and company. And screens and draws can REALLY play heck with that type of approach - easy to get BURNED, and UGA has the weapons to do it.
Whatever you do, you better score every time down the field. You do NOT want to get into a shootout with AM, in my humble opinion.

Game will be over by mid 3rd quarter and "Death Valley" will be half empty by then. This offense is so deep and talented even Bobo can't screw it up.

Stupid penalties should have been #2 on my list. Scheming against our O will not be an enviable task.
Ogre, hope you are right! Just read that Matthews was practicing without the noncontact jersey on. Ready to watch the Dawgs!!!

southernlover, Matthews in my opinion is what Erk was talking about when he tagged "us" Junkyard Dawgs. Hope that makes sense.

Truth. Have watched young men play for Erk, knowing that they were far from 100%. Not that it is a good thing, just shows how deep dedication can go. How many on this board remember their coaches with PRIDE! I do, huge influence on my life. Team play. What we will see on Saturday against Clemson.

Reason for using the coaches we remember and why . . . . Cornelius Washington now trying to catch on with the Chicago Bears. Many have probably read what he had to say about Todd Grantham. He was far ahead of many trying to make the team because of what he learned at Georgia. Same can be said about Jarvis Jones and others from last years team. Jarvis fit right in, already knew what the Steelers were doing.
Say again . . . . Todd Grantham has had the yoke around his neck removed. He now is playing with a full deck of coaches that were basically chosen by him. At the same time many of the "talking heads" are saying we will be better toward the end of the year . . . . duh. Staying injury free, no doubt that the talent in Athens will improve as the season moves along.
Will watch Grantham closer this season. Know that I will get a better feel for what he is doing and wants to do by paying attention to the things that he can control. He has control over his coaches, now let us see how he handles those players that were recruited under his regime. My opinion.
Edit: Have not made a secret of the fact that I am a Ramik Wilson supporter on this board. In the video below he uses a term or two that I really like . . . . Team play and speed. Ramik says this team is fast and will get after you. Suits me Ramik.
