Thought it might be a good idea to start another "Opening Game Thread". Some of the information on both teams has changed considerably since the first Georgia/Clemson thread we chatted about. Home stretch.

I will be "short" with my first post. No guarantees after that . . . . :woohoo:

I am really surprised that Conley does not get more "press" than he does. Conley is one hell of a football player. Glad he plays for the "good guys". AM knows where Conley should be and is, that makes me a happy camper.

Your turn . . . . by the way, if you have not visited the link below, some good reading about the "what ifs". :)

Buc, if the defensive backs and the offensive line play up to potential, without turnovers,UGA should win the game hands down. I wish I could go more indepth than that, but, believe that is the way its going to play out. GO DAWGS! GATA

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

Buc, good read. I can understand clemson's point of view, and looks like they know exactly where they need to be worried. Our secondary and placekicking duties has me a little concerned. Feel pretty good about everything else.

Growl, dead on.

GO DAWGS.

growl, it is going to be interesting watching the rotation on the offensive line. There has been a lot said about the rotation on the defensive line for 2013.

DWS, Chubb squating 600 scares the heck out of me. Noticed that Marshall has been building his thighs this offseason. Gurley now somewhere around or over 230 pounds has added more muscle underneath those thigh pads. This group of running backs has a way of making the defensive line have "short arms" after a quarter or two. ;)

Couple of seriously good running backs coming in next year, offensive line going to be all that, sure like the depth.

AJ Turman, Brendan Douglas, both will play this year. There are some "getting experience games" on our schedule. Mark Richt and company appear to have this offensive running back game under conrol. AJ might redshirt, Brendan Douglas will play. Damn, glad that GT did not end up with this athlete, and he is that.

AD5, still have my eyes on Kublanow and Pyke. Believe they are going to keep the "starters" on their toes. Really like that. You getting those "butterflies" yet, know that you did in college. :)

Buc,

as I've mentioned a couple times previously, would be very surprised if this one isn't still close in the 4th. Delusional Dawg fan Southernlover has been replaced in more recent years by Realistic Dawg fan Southerlover. After the Boise State loss a couple years ago I was brought crashing back to reality and understand not to under estimate the opposition. Fact is we have the tools to be the most explosive offense in the country. Defense will have growing pains whether Matthews and company are completely healthy or not. Just the way any young, unproven defense with loads of talent will progress against top tier competition.

Keys to the game:

1) Ball protection. Murray can't go into turnover mode like he tends to do in big games.
2) Clock management through balanced run / pass attack. Gonna be hot and young defensive pups will need breathers.
3) Limit the big plays. We will have to sacrifice the shorter underneath pass plays but can't get burned to often deep.
4) Obviously, bringing the heat off the corners while maintaining containment on Boyd.

I'm cautiously optimistic but the eyes of the nation will be on us and we need to set the tone early. GATA!!!
