Below is a clip that I think is worth looking at. After the Nebraska game in Orlando, I was on this board and not very happy with some of the things that I saw in that game.

Have come to realize a lot of things about certain players and coaches, however at the time, Todd Grantham was going nuts on the sideline. He has had to be collared more than once since arriving in Athens, his motor never stops. If anyone takes this as a put down, you are wrong, it is simply a concern I have had for a while. Think some others have also.

The clip below is exactly the way I think Clemson will attack us. We should not think for one minute that the brain power at Clemson has not watched the game in Orlando, several times. If I were the head coach, for sure myself and my group of coaches would. The quarterback for Nebraska and Clemson have a lot of similarities. Both have wheels and an arm.

Go to the 4:02 mark and there is where I start biting my nails. Actually have never done that, but it makes me a bit nervous. We are playing a lot of freshmen and players without a lot of D1 time on the field.

Getting close to game time, brings out the VD in me.

I concur Buc, but the difference I see with this group is SPEED and athleticism! I have no doubt that we are gonna miss some assignments but you can't coach speed! We have that all over this young D! I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about our D in the first quarter. But they have to grow up fast and they all know that...

3 days until the kickoff of the 2013 season. I can’t really sleep very well without some help. Plans are set for game day and it’s going to be a LOOOOONNGGG game day and only the strong will survive. It’ll probably be daylight when we get home and we’re only 2 ½ hours away but there’s nothing like being a Bulldog on a Saturday night. So here we go.

I’ve been reading, watching, and listening for some time now. IMO, 4 things need to happen Saturday night for a win. Great coaching, making no “stupid” penalties, winning the turnover battle, and keep Boyd behind the line. In that order.

The coaches MUST be focused at 120% Saturday night. My worst thought is that Bobo reverts back to the almighty conservative play calling from a few years back. I’m sure you all remember us posting “fire Bobo”. That’s what I’m talking about. We don’t need that mentality back AT ALL.

Penalties may be frequent in our secondary. Just my prediction. As long as those penalties aren’t stupid and aren't at the wrong place and time, we’ll be fine.

IMO, turnovers may be frequent but to our advantage. We can’t have these at the wrong place and time either.

Last be not least, keep Boyd contained and do not let him run loose with the ball. I’ve had nightmares over the past week or two of Conner and Tebow running the ball all over the place. If our LB’s and OL can keep this from happening and our secondary steps up to the plate right out of the gate, we’ll win by 13+.

Supreme coaching, patience, focus (aka. attention to detail), determination, and pressure will win this thing boys and girls. The talent is there. New Year, New Team, One Dream. Now finish the drill DAWGS.

Have fun everyone and as always, GO DAWGS!

sflanagan21, so right about growing up fast. This is a very unusual year in my opinion. What makes it different is what you and others have posted here.

More talent in Athens that I have seen in many years, maybe or probably ever. This is the group that has a tremendous amount of pressure on them from the opening whistle. We are asking this group, especially the defense to come together and climb up that ladder another step. This particular step has to be much quicker, simple reason, starting off with two top ten football teams.

Might add this also, and it probably applies to me more than some. I have mentioned patience on this board more than one time. That patience has to be shown by the fans, as you say, there are going to be mistakes.

Go a bit further, if you are right about the first quarter. I do know that you just put the thought out that these puppies had to mature quickly. If this group on the defense can come out of this game with a win, in my mind it can change a lot of things in the future.

How? All any of us need to do is look at our recruiting board for 2014. Impressive might not be the right word, but the group that say they are coming will be pushing next year to get playing time, just like the group we will start the game with against Clemson.

Finally we have gotten ourselves to the point or damn close to what Alabama does every year. Yes, talking about reloading, not rebuilding. I truly believe that we now understand that quarterbacks and running backs NEED offensive linemen with a talent level above average.

Same can be said about the defensive line and backers. Strong 7 man front, sure opens up opportunities for great defensive back and safety play.

Will stop with this. There have been several videos since the first of the year with players that have been on campus for a while, with some game experience. Almost to a man every one of the "elders" have raved about the incoming freshmen. They talk about speed and learning quickly. 2014 group will come with the same intentions. I like our direction and our coaching staff. Say again, hope we can keep the entire group together. That goes back to the opening of this post . . . . PATIENCE. :)

Good night folks, catch up with you tomorrow, Good Lord Willing. :)

Edit: Gillette, was still typing my post when I finished, there you are. Good read, change that, good football read. We seem to be on the same page.

Go Dawgs, coach'em up!

Also, I’ve been thinking of the motto of “New Team, New Year, One Dream”.

Sounds really good and motivational and all but “KICK ASS, NO PRISONERS, BURY THE DEAD” sounds a LOT more, ummm, kick ass’ish.

gillette, appears to me that Mark Richt is pulling out all of the stops. That is good, game should mean everything to him, as well as the players and fans.

Going to play Reggie Davis, this move (sort of) surprised me. Continued to hear good things about him from practice reports. Apparently the fastest player on our team. Do know that he ran track as well as playing football for Lincoln in JAX. With his speed, someone has to be keeping their eyes on him, game breaker.

Appears to me that the large class that we recruited last season is paying dividends, along with this group of freshmen. Like it.
