Time to start the analysis . . .

Not a big fan of rotating QB's unless there are certain designed packages. However, can't say that I disagree about the 2004 ut game. Summed it up. Tough decision. Do you bench the guy who led one of the greatest game winning drives in UGA history against the team he led the drive against, or do you go with the hot hand? I am just glad I don't have to make that decision.

Played for a split back veer team. Watched many option teams. Not an offense you can go to for a change of pace. You have to be all wishbone all the time, or not. Blocking schemes are totally different. Exchanges are so critical in the wishbone. You see gt, air force and others put the ball on the ground to much against good teams due to missed exchanges. It would have to be one or the other. Can't do both. If we were to go to the wishbone, you might as well give AM a free release. Not saying option football can't be effective. But for it to be effective, you have to totally convert.

Not coming close to saying that we should go to a totally different offense. VD did that with Goff and it worked for him. VD knew that some changes had to be made, that was however a time when many changes were going on in college football. Bill Yeoman of Houstan changed the Wishbone to what was called the Veer. It was real explosive and quickly there became many copycats in college football. My point is, something has to change in Athens, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Unless . . . . many folks are wrong and think that some of our point total was not legitimate recently.

Most of the folks that claim to understand football seem to think that UGA has some pretty good personnel on the defensive side. Many of the concerns that I read on different boards seem to be about the offensive side. I will know a lot more when this season is over. I have concerns and I hope that my concerns are not the same at the end of the season that I have now.

Good conversation going on here, with some knowledgable folks.

If lately includes 2008 against GT, that wasn't a lot of fun to watch.

Ok, CTG "lately" (that was WM's D). Too much size and speed with SEC D's to run the wishbone imo. Believe you have to have offensive balance to have success against todays SEC D's.

Of course, just my opinion.

AD5.....do you think the wishbone would work in the SEC against these defenses?

When UM brought the spread to UF it took a couple of years but eventually these SEC D's started shutting it down. Believe you have to be able to run it AND throw it against SEC D's to be successful.

I certainly believe some changes need to be made on offensive but please don't get into "gimmicks"......play solid, balanced, hardnosed ball and just limit mistakes......no gimmicks.
