Time to start the analysis . . .

thriller wrote: No wrong turns for you, Buc. No need to install an entirely new scheme or gimmick like the wish-bone or the "fun and gun". Just add a little something to the existing repertoire that will cause those fast SEC defenses to slow down a step or two, so they can read the back of someone's jersey - "Crowell" or "Marshall" or "Mitchell" or "Gurley" or whoever. Kind of like adding a good change up makes a fastball that much more effective. I just don't understand having all those backs and not putting more than one in there at a time every now and then.

However, that takes imagination - something that, at least to me and a few others, seems to have been missing for the last many seasons.

thriller went back and read almost every post in this thread. As many have said, a lot of good "heady" material here.

Basically what I see being said is simply, someone needs to put the key into the ignition and let's get this offense playing up to skill level. Whether that be coaching or players, that is for the individual to decide. Say again, sure hope that we have more than one of our highly recruited backs in a combination role.

A lot of the posts have had much to say about the offense. Myself being a defensive minded person first, read the following article and it just continues to boost my opinion of Grantham, if that is possible.

wlayton, unless CTG falls flat on his face, there is a huge story being written in Athens. Mean nothing more by that statement than this old fart has been praying for the return to defensive football in "Athens". :woohoo: :woohoo:

This thread has been pretty much open to "open conversation" like it. Below is a link from another board that I visit. The conversation makes me think about sadlerdawg and a couple of others that post here.
