Agree with AD5 on the SEC defense analysis.
Makes those missed TDs in the red zone that more important.

True to point. However I don't think GT has the backs to stack up against most SEC defenses.

No argument there but SEC D's are too big and too fast. Just don't believe it would work against these D's. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, UM brought the "spread" to the SEC and it worked for a while.....finally you started seeing these defenses shutting it down. Believe you have to be able to throw it as well as run it in this league, D's are too good, have to keep them honest and off balance, imo.

I'm with you on these thoughts. I'm not calling for a move away from a pro-style offense. I would just like to see a few additional wrinkles from time to time. Like I said - make LBs and safeties HESITATE just a split second - boom - IC or KM is GONE.

Unless I made a wrong turn somewhere on this thread, thought that was the idea behind something a little different. A few wrinkles, just to add a change of pace to what has been the norm for many seasons.

No wrong turns for you, Buc. No need to install an entirely new scheme or gimmick like the wish-bone or the "fun and gun". Just add a little something to the existing repertoire that will cause those fast SEC defenses to slow down a step or two, so they can read the back of someone's jersey - "Crowell" or "Marshall" or "Mitchell" or "Gurley" or whoever. Kind of like adding a good change up makes a fastball that much more effective. I just don't understand having all those backs and not putting more than one in there at a time every now and then.

However, that takes imagination - something that, at least to me and a few others, seems to have been missing for the last many seasons.
