alldawg, to me , it isn't about the OL vs any one particular team. The reason we will never win the SEC with Bobo and or CMR is simple: go back to the MSU game. The announcers saw it, I saw and everyone on this board saw: their best DE lined up UNTOUCHED and pummeled AM many times in the first half, AND THE ADULTS PAID THE MONEY TO CHANGE TACTICS DID NOT. Every AM pass was the same, 7 step drop, no one blocking #2. The announcers said more than once that we must have had a breakdown. BREAKDOWN?????? It is one of two things:
1. The players don't know how to line each other up on plays,
2. Bobo does not know how to adjust. For example, my 6 year old at some point would have curled a RB out aroud #2 , and 3-4 looping passes over him would have slowed that down. Or, I would have tried double TE's and power football, not the shotgun delayed handoff to a slow Samuel, that by the time he got the ball, the DL was all over him.
You can't compare how well we did against UF---in that game, we went power I where RS could run down hill. This game, we acted like he was barry Sanders, the shotgun, delay handoff.
The problem isn't the players not doing what they have to do--every team has plays break down b/c a 19 year old does something wrong. They are KIDS.
You are missing the BIGGER picture. The next level picture: when we play teams of equal or better talent with a better coaching staff, we will lose 70% of the time.
