Whew! This is a long thread. Shame on me for being away so long it took me half an hour to read and see this thread go in many directions.
ogredawg is right. kool-aid drinking and island loving has all been in fun. Think us islanders and non islanders enjoy the jabbing more than anything when kept in good spirits. I have even joked abut sending him kool-aid in the mail! Gotta love this forum. Many of us fight and then make up just like a family/siblings. It's what makes it great here.
I see this loss as more of a team loss and ultimately like all other losses, our OL got whooped by a more athletic, scrappy DL, Bobo can't make adjustments and still has to go-go. I'm not on the fire CMR platform still.
Love the AJC read with the quotes from AD McG on the negotiations with Richt. He's right in that MSU also deserves some credit and also sees this as a team loss. Glad he's in Athens. He will know when a change needs to be made.
Missed you folks. Glad I finally got a minute to take a breath and catch up/post my .02.
I like this quote from "The Man":
“Blair Walsh kicks a 42-yard field goal and we’re sitting here feeling great about ourselves,” McGarity said. “But would we have solved our running game problem? No. Would that have solved them being able to go on an 85-yard drive with no timeouts? No. So, I mean, the dynamics haven’t changed. It’s not going to matter diddly-squat when we start lifting weights in three weeks. If anything it’ll add more incentive for next year.”
Kinda says it all.
Actually it kinda of contradicts everything Richt said before the bowl about setting the tone for spring ball and next season. Hmmm maybe we have been giving McGarity too much credit?
