Although this thread started out as "Recruit News", found this article to be informative. Going to start calling our AD Mack instead of Mc, so picked this article up which some have probably read, but maybe many have not.

After reading the article, I am convinced more than ever that Mack was without a doubt the right hire for UGA. Mack is as important to our football program as any 4 or 5 star athlete, probably more.

So far we have changed our defensive coaches, S&C coaches and probably have had a few "adjustments" on the offensive side that we are not totally aware of. Mack is not going to put up with off field issues as in the past. Diet becomes a hot issue. Mack seems to have a firm grasp on what it is he is going to do at UGA. I like it.

One reason that I am going to call our AD Mack is this . . . . ever look at the front of some 18 wheelers and see a certain "Bulldog" as an ornament . . . . Yep, Mack Trucks. :)

Good article, Buc. Not sure I fully agree with this part--

As McGarity and Richt have gotten to know each other in the past several months, one thing that has made an impression on McGarity is Richt’s ability “to call it like it is.”

The latest example came with how he reacted to Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson allowing Georgia to score on a 20-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter of their game on Nov. 27 in hopes of tying the game.

“Really we got outcoached right there,” Richt after Georgia’s 42-34 win. “As soon as it happened, I said, ‘He got us, he got me.’ ”

Said McGarity: “You hear so many times, politicians or whoever it may be, very few people just come out and say, ‘I screwed up. I messed up. I made a mistake.’ It’s refreshing when you hear people do that because they’re just being brutally honest.”

That would definitely be a new development in Richt's persona. For years it was always the politically correct garbage, and taking extreme steps NOT to call it like it is. That would really be refreshing for Richt to take that road.

Also, being of Irish descent, I can't give up his Mick in favor of Mack. B) B) Good analogy, though, but he'll have to be McG to me.

As long as we all know who it is we are discussing, doesn't really matter. UGA has needed someone to take the lead for quite a while, think that McG, Mack will step forward, think he already has. There will certainly be some bumps in the road, much better than a sink hole.

Another article that caught my attention. . . . lifted this from ecdawg's site.

Another good article, Buc. Stats can be skewed sometimes, so at times it's better to just go with what the team looks like, and to me, although appearing lost a few times, this D LOOKED better to me than in the past 3 or 4 years.

And I agree, as long as our AD makes a difference, I don't care what we call him.
