Easy to give Richt the credit for that, but Lumpkin and Brown spent quite a bit of time on the IR. Not really Richt's fault. That is where I have a problem. If you are going to blame Richt for the lack of success a player has, then you also have to give him credit for guys like Green, Moreno, Stafford, MM, Pope, Durham for the year he is having, Charles, and the list could go on. Not every kid gets it. Doesn't mean the coach is not coaching. Look at Brantley. Many kids flop, and it doesn't mean it is the fault of a coach.
Lattimore was great no doubt, but that kind of makes my point. Why isn't Crowell thinking about going to SC? Why isn't one RB in the top 10,actually top 25, in the country even considering SC? I mean they were competing for the SEC championship, it should be a cake walk to get one of the top RB's in the country to put SC in their top 3. Who knows they may get one of the top guys, but I am guessing they won't. While bama has 2 unbelievable RB's, but because of PT, Crowell is still strongly considering them. It is the same philosophy that Carroll had with the trojan men. That Meyer had. That Saban has. Recruits know by watching this year that playing time is not going to happen at that position until Lattimore is gone. My 2nd point, unless Lattimore gets injured or in some serious trouble, he is going to be a first or second rounder. As far as Lumpkin and Brown being 5 stars, not sure they were, but not going to look it up, that just proves even more the flaws. The 5 star ranking became somewhat of a joke. Enough of a joke for the recruiting services to say "we are handing out to many 5 stars and guys are not producing at the next level" That is why there are so few now.
With all that being said, I agree too, MB should have been red shirted.
