Watched his dad play football at Valdosta. WR, KR, all around player and a man among boys. Went to Clemson and believe he settled only on basketball. Stan Rome (dad) was a FANTASTIC athlete......more than happy to have his son. The dad played under Wright Bazemore (the Bear Bryant of HS football).

Yes he was Buc, saw it personally when I lived in Valdosta in the early 70's.

Wright Bazemore was the BEAR of HS football and like Buc says - a great recruiter - he would find the parents a job in the valdosta area if they didn't live close by - Jay would be a GREAT addition to the dawg family - can just imagine AM trowing to him for the winning TD against them gators next year

Things sound encouraging this week. Do you realize if we nail down 5 of these last 7 or so names we are hearing , we could go to #1 in recruiting? I said on this site after the uf game that I was told it was a done deal IC and Rad drew would be hear-we'll see.

But if we add Drew, IC, Rome, Mitchell, Swain, and the two JUCO DLmen, thats 3-4 5 stars right there.

Things look very encouraging. Coaches just have to make sure they finish well. We always start out great, but we need to make sure that we finish strong.

I really like that they are chasing guys that they need instead of chasing stars. I would like to see IC, but I just don't think it is going to happen. We don't have to get all the guys, just need to make sure that we get the ones that we need. We need IC, but if we don't get him, it won't be because of lack of effort, which I can live with. Who knows though.

I have a feeling the RB's will be much better next year. I think they came into this year a false sense of success based only on what they did the last 3 games of the season before. I hope they realize that they accomplished nothing but a sub par season and don't need the hype of UGA having 2, 1,000yd rusher titles like I saw this preseason. Those guys should be embarrassed about what they did this year both on and off the field.

I think the pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place. It just seems that the ball is starting to bounce Richt's way again. Now, he needs to take advantage of it and get these kids to sign.
