I hope we can get at least 5 of the guys that have been mentioned. Realistically, I think that would be a great number and a great class. To much talent in GA to get all the kids, only get 25 or so scholarships a year to offer. I believe this staff will close strong.
As far as the Marlon Brown thing, I think he is a prime example of the flaws in the system. No way he should have been a 5 star kid. Not that he is a terrible player, but AJ was able to come in and make an immediate impact with the same coaching staff. That is what 5 stars do. Not much coaching has to be done. Brown faced kids that were probably 5'6" - 5'10", that ran anywhere from 4.8-5.1 in the 40. Trust me. Coached high school in TN, and the talent pool is not comparable to other power states. Especially considering he played Division 2, private school high school football. Marlon is not to blame, but the recruiting system just missed. That is why they have stated 5 stars are going to be seen a lot less often. As far as red shirting, probably should have, but our numbers were and are still very lean at that position compared to what they need to be.
As far as the RB rotation, I will continue to state that 1 back systems are a thing of the past. Not to mention, that none of those guys were feature back talent. Believe 1 may still be on a NFL team. Not saying they weren't good players because they were, but to be a feature back in the SEC, you better be a first or second rounder. Plus, makes it harder to recruit when only one back is getting the reps. IC has even stated that he wants to play early and that he likes the way bama rotates their backs. All recruits want to play right away.
