RabunDog, I sure hope that you are wrong on the expectations of the Dawgs in the upcoming season. Looking at this schedule, new coaching philosophy, team acceptance on both sides of the ball, it is hard for me to believe that this team won't improve drastically.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you that there is a learning process going on, however, don't think that the learning process is going on solely on defense. Appears to me that Coach Richt has looked at both sides of the ball and has decided that he needs to get back into the seat that he knows best . . . . offensive play calling. I don't think for a minute that he will totally overrule Coach Bobo, do believe that he knows the offensive side of the ball has to perform much better than last year, one big reason being, need to give the defense some \"real time\" to become adjusted to the 3/4 and the different schemes that Coach Grantham will use throughout the game.
If we can go to Columbia, come away with a victory, this is going to be a tough team to beat. Tough team to beat for ALL opponents on our schedule. Columbia (Gamecocks) is where this new defense has to grow up, if that happens, personally think it is \"Katie Bar the Door\".
Florida is going to be as always, tough. They have athletes, plain and simple.
Mississippi State will test our offense, they have a defense that flies to the ball, and their offense is only going to get better. This game scares me, especially being an away game.
Auburn, they are laying for the Dawgs. We have been doing to them what Tennessee has been doing to us. Tough place to play, damn good defensive football team. They love to run the football and we will see plenty of that on the Plains.
No doubt in my mind that we are going to score points. Guess some of you have to trust me when I say that AM IS SOLID. I read articles that talk about his height, personally, think that he is 6'. This young man loves the game, is afraid of nothing, will run and make yardage when he needs to. I have said this maybe a thousand times on this board, he reminds me so much of Favre. He is a gunslinger, but above all, he understands the game. A coach on the field. This is another reason that I think that Coach Richt is getting involved on the offensive side again, AM. Coach Richt knows that he has a jewel in the rough. However, AM is not that rough, and takes coaching very well.
Tennessee, have said it before . . . . I hope we put 50 on their butts. Send the \"blue tick\" back to hunting whatever it is they hunt. Rocky Top comes to Athens and I believe that the UGA football team is laying for them, same as Auburn is laying for us.
Please don't get me wrong on this . . . I know that you are tried and true Red and Black. Guess we just see things a bit differently. RabunDog, that is what these boards are for, discussion, not AJC who is FIRST.
I probably have 10,000 more words, but don't need to bore folks anymore.
Go Dawgs!
