This is one of those logical fallacies that has been proven over again. The fallacy goes that if you are successful at step x on the organizational ladder, then you will be successful at step y. It just doesn't always work out that way. This is why, when we get a great coordinator, we should pay him to encourage him to remain a great coordinator and not chase the HC job because of the promotion.
