wlayton, don't think it is confidence alone. You do have the inside, for sure, and truly understand what UGA is all about.
No doubt in my mind that CTG will be faced with some decisions, especially with the Dawgs being so successful. If we keep the same folks running the program from the top . . . . not sure that Adams will come off of the $'s needed. Not sure that he can see beyond his nose (wallet). Made some changes on the coaching staff, who knows, maybe more changes coming at a higher level.
Other side of that coin, thinking that RabunDog might, might be saying we have a situation at UGA that closely resembles Texas. Old Fart like me likes stability, along the same lines as VaTech. Really believe CTG is here because he sees a future. I say boot the president and move on from there.
Totally agree that AM will spend four years in Athens. This young man is not like a lot of young folks that want to climb the pole too fast. Said many times, this young fellow is \"football\" smart, and does well in the classroom. Please remember this, he is Favre like, just has his head in a better place than Bret did at this point in their lives. AM is not afraid, he is a smart player, with enormous talent. By the end of the year, if he stays healthy, it will be interesting to read some of the comments on this board and the media. Think I am sold? I have a reason to be, I have had the privilege of watching this \"stud\" work his magic.
If Special Teams really step us this year, damn, what more needs to be said.
Well, one thing that really needs to be said is this . . . would we trade our kicking game for another college teams . . . . SEC Football, has always been linked directly to the kicking game. Tennessee for many, many years lived off of the kicking game. Good kicking game equals WINS. Great kicking game equals thoughts of the big prize.
Takes me back to this thought . . . keep the coaching staff together. It will come down to what CTG said . . . 5 hour radius and we can recruit all the talent we need to win the big one. CTG is totally SERIOUS about winning the BIG ONE. As are we.
Got carried away again, just love where we SEEM to be after some disappointing coaching in the recent past.
Also want to say this . . . thanks to the coaches that left for leaving before the A&M game. Goes to show that CRG with some sideline help looked awesome. CRG and the young guys proved that it was time for a CHANGE.
Go Dawgs!
