3/4 Defense Lesson

wlayton, don't think it is confidence alone. You do have the inside, for sure, and truly understand what UGA is all about.

No doubt in my mind that CTG will be faced with some decisions, especially with the Dawgs being so successful. If we keep the same folks running the program from the top . . . . not sure that Adams will come off of the $'s needed. Not sure that he can see beyond his nose (wallet). Made some changes on the coaching staff, who knows, maybe more changes coming at a higher level.

Other side of that coin, thinking that RabunDog might, might be saying we have a situation at UGA that closely resembles Texas. Old Fart like me likes stability, along the same lines as VaTech. Really believe CTG is here because he sees a future. I say boot the president and move on from there.

Totally agree that AM will spend four years in Athens. This young man is not like a lot of young folks that want to climb the pole too fast. Said many times, this young fellow is \"football\" smart, and does well in the classroom. Please remember this, he is Favre like, just has his head in a better place than Bret did at this point in their lives. AM is not afraid, he is a smart player, with enormous talent. By the end of the year, if he stays healthy, it will be interesting to read some of the comments on this board and the media. Think I am sold? I have a reason to be, I have had the privilege of watching this \"stud\" work his magic.

If Special Teams really step us this year, damn, what more needs to be said.

Well, one thing that really needs to be said is this . . . would we trade our kicking game for another college teams . . . . SEC Football, has always been linked directly to the kicking game. Tennessee for many, many years lived off of the kicking game. Good kicking game equals WINS. Great kicking game equals thoughts of the big prize.

Takes me back to this thought . . . keep the coaching staff together. It will come down to what CTG said . . . 5 hour radius and we can recruit all the talent we need to win the big one. CTG is totally SERIOUS about winning the BIG ONE. As are we.

Got carried away again, just love where we SEEM to be after some disappointing coaching in the recent past.

Also want to say this . . . thanks to the coaches that left for leaving before the A&M game. Goes to show that CRG with some sideline help looked awesome. CRG and the young guys proved that it was time for a CHANGE.

:woohoo: :woohoo: Go Dawgs!

Hey Buc

Yes I agree CRG/players with some help did a GREAT job against A&M and that it showed changes were needed

As for the prez - I do hope his recent decision will soon be reversed - It is not wise to punish all for the falt of the few - It maybe time for a change here also

Surely he realizes that FOOTBALL is KING and that UGA does not have one of the most profitable sports programs in the country without haveing successfull programs in all sports (yes some ups and downs but overall successfull) - YOU DON\"T MESS WITH FOOTBALL IN THE SEC - too much money at stake - Evans/AthleticAssoc will do everything in their power to make sure we remain successfull - they got off the money for CTG - they saw the possibilties - they know where the money comes from

As for stability - I think its harder and harder to maintain that especialy in the SEC - but I think that if CTG is successfull - he will be here for a good while - If VaTech were in the SEC they might not have had the stability they've had - I think the SEC has been pretty successfull playing them

And yes I think we could be in the same situation as Texas soon

I don't want to say we will do this or we will do that, but what I think we will see is a much more complete team. If our Guys and Coaches do what we believe they can do. We will have a very good team! When you are very good in every aspect of the game, the numbers will come! I guarantee!
It is exciting, what this team and these players could do.

I agree with some exceptions

#1 - he'll still be at UGA
#2 - maybe only 3 yrs - you know good ones don't stay the whole time
#3 - more than 3 years
#4 - A lot better - maybe not the leader but certianly up there
#5 - More than 3 years
#6 - It could happen

#1.....who knows.....very successful coaches move on to HCing jobs much more quickly than in the past. Loyalty is definitely not as big an issue as in the past......and remember Grantham has zero connection to UGA. Imo 3-4 years is possible and HOPE I'm wrong!!!!!

#2. AM will be at UGA 4 years because he's not considered to be a big pro prospect. At \"maybe\" 6 feet tall, he could turn out to be a great college player but marginal at the next level. Again.....possible DJ clone.

#3. My other 3 year comments for the D, offense and ST was just a short term prediction.....didn't feel the need to look any further out than that.....based on current players and staff etc.

#4. ST last year was greatly improved. Best 2 kicker combo in the country this year and with Fabris gone, kick coverage will be straightened out (imo, the only weak spot). Yep....ST will be as good as ANYBODY in the country this year and forward years.

wlayton-your always right

#1 - I did not mean that he would be at UGA as defensive coordinator

#2 - Your right - he's probably not the pro type - that would be good for us - I'll take 4 yrs

#3 - Yes it's hard to make it to the top and stay there

#4 - Right on

RabunDog.....we are on the same page my friend.......and believe we are both \"stoked\". Btw, on #1, were you thinking he could be HC one day?......interesting......and a possibility. But if he turned out to be that good of a coach, it would solidify CMR's reign.

Btw......my wife thinks I'm NEVER right.
