3/4 Defense Lesson

All of the Dawg Nation seems to be alive and well. Most are excited about the new 3/4 defense that will be used by us this year. While we all know a \"little\" about the 3/4, thought that the link below would be worth taking a look at.

Also, we read clips from our players on defense about the huge change that is going on in Athens. After I read this article, really makes me appreciate what these players are going through. Totally foreign to most who have been around the Athens Campus, that includes players and Dawg supporters.

This is why I think we will have some \"growing\" pains - I hope we remember that this is a BIG adjustment for the players - I still think that Grantham&Company can pull them through

Know that you along with wlayton have mentioned \"growing\" pains. Can totally agree on that point. RD it will make me happy to see \"effort\" from our team even though they relapse occasionally. Did not see enough of that under the previous administration. If Coach Grantham and the coaches on his side of the ball get these guys up to speed before the year is over, will be more than pleased.

Also like what I read about the players helping one another out. Not playing the \"I, me, my game\" . . . lining up as a team. Enthusiasm with players and fans alike is higher than I have ever seen it. Amazing what one initial hire by Coach Richt has done to bring all of us together again. I like it . . . . :woohoo:

This is the way I look at it. Our defense might give up some points this year with blow assignments and plain just getting beat every once in a while. I am just hopeful to see REAL tackling. Something these defensive coaches have been working on with these guys. I think that our defense has been so bad as of late that even with growing pains we will still be better then we have been the last few years. I personally predict we fall in the middle of the SEC on defense which is much better then almost last.

We will rely on our offense and ball control. Try to keep the ball in our guys hands and not give the other teams offense a chance to hit the field. Along with more turnovers which will happen with better tackling looking for the ball and actually putting pressure on the qb. Im excited. I think our D will depend a little on our offense still. I think our offense is a much harder rock then other teams are giving us credit for.
