I may be wrong but I thought I heard Richt say we only had 18-19 slots available. The predictions of a 23 size class was just for those who didn't get in????

Is this our next hire at UGA? Help me out wlayton . . . .

Jones: Entering his fifth year in the NFL, Travis Jones will work with defensive line coach Bill Johnson in continuing to develop a talented defensive front. Known for his dedication to the fundamentals and his teaching skills, Jones begins his second season in New Orleans.

Prior to arriving in New Orleans, Jones spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, his first year as assistant defensive line coach and his final two seasons tutoring the outside linebackers and defensive ends.

Before arriving in Miami, Jones spent 2003-04 at LSU, where he was the defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator. In his first season, the Tigers’ defensive front recorded 31 of the team’s school-record 44 sacks, while also limiting opponents to 67 yards rushing per game – ranking third in the nation and first in the SEC.

In 1997, Jones opened his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, the University of Georgia, where he worked with the defensive line, including a pair of freshmen in Richard Seymour and Marcus Stroud.

I'm ready to be done with the speculation on rankings, the player's showboating--elevating their self worth, the talking heads telling us who got the best class and who busted. I'm sooooo ready for spring ball so we can get first hand knowledge of the potential of not only our recruits, but the team as a whole. I'm so excited for the preseason to start, I hate recruiting season. Oh well, Nascar starts this weekend, eh Buc, Fire_dawg, (any other fans on here?) That should hold me til the G-Day game!!

Thats right Sadlerdawg!! Shootout practice today at 5:00. I'm headed down to AMS next Thursday for a NASCAR class. Then, 3 weeks later is race weekend!

I've gotten so tired of all the talk of UGA being a bust this season on the recruiting trail that I over it!! I'm to the point where if you want to play at UGA then come on, if not then oh well. Some of these guys are saying that they are not coming b/c Willie is no longer here. That makes me think that those guys ARE NOT that football smart!! Look at how our DF has declined over the years. And your saying that your not gonna play here b/c he's not here anylonger? I would want to come here now that he's gone just for the simple fact that the man was an IDIOT when it came to calling plays. Now that CG is here a player has a better chance at learning what it takes to play at the next level. Oh well, but what do I know? I'm just a dumb fireman!:S

firedawg, excellent point on WM. My first \"uh-oh\" moment came when we lost at home to UT 51-33. Didn't we have like a 24-10 lead at the half?

It was solidified for mme when Jonathan Crompton said he knew what defense we would come with once he got to the line of scrimmage.

Buc, many have speculated that it might be Travis Jones. However, he’s due to make at least $500k in New Orleans next year, and I’m pretty sure that UGA will not pay that. We’ll see. I doubt that it’s going to be Jones, but I’d take him in a heartbeat.

I’m not really sure. That’s something that’s always moving around because of walk-on’s that are awarded scholarships and people leaving the program. I was just speculating with a number earlier. My main point was that 2011's crop of senior recruits are MUCH better than 2010's.
