Monday - Week Off - Regroup?

Everyone has a tolerance level. Everyone has that final button that can be pushed. Every camel can carry a different amount of straw, but every camel has that last straw that breaks its back.

Many on this board hit that level a long time ago. I didn't.

Now I have. The fact that a rank amateur like me could see this coming LONG before we got here, and it's playing out exactly as predicted, pushed me over the edge. Our last QB was AM. We see what was being "developed" behind him . . . essentially nothing, to the point that we had to accept a Cavalier discard. And that's playing out exactly as anyone could possibly expect. There is not ONE game remaining on our schedule that is a given, and they should ALL be givens.

Now we are staring down a Florida Gaytor barrel. A Gaytor team that has completely rebuilt their confidence. And we are without a credible QB. Without Nick Chubb. Without an OC, apparently (remember 3rd and 13? handoff to Douglas?! Tantamount to just handing the ball over).

What to do? Promote CJP to the HC position? Recruit Kirby Smart? See if someone else out there has a coordinator ready to take that next step?

Notice I did not include "give the current HC another chance to 'fix' things". That was Plan A. That's been tried already - it didn't work. Time for Plan B.

There are way more people that are not in the "Arena" that know the game of football just as well as those that are. Most were not talented enough, or well enough connected to make it to the "Arena", so being in the "Arena" isn't a good enough qualifier in my book.

If being in the arena leads us to where we currently are, as the expression was made, guess I am missing something.

Easy enough to look at what thriller said above in post #36 and come away with answers. That unfortunately has not happened and it appears that the 2015 Season is just another season in my opinion of coaching failures. Not player failures, have to get that straight.

Brian Schottenheimer was hired by our head coach, there had to be a reason for that.

Are we to believe that Schottenheimer is the type of offensive coordinator that can bring in a player that lost his standing in Virginia and produce at the SEC level, don't care if it is SEC East or West. We have been tested by the West, know how that went.

Got a stiff test from an East opponent, Missouri, the same team that started a freshman at quarterback. Don't really care about the fact the freshman started the game because their best quarterback could not live by team rules. The overall offensive unit that Missouri came to Athens with played as well as our "seasoned offensive unit" that most in the media and this board and others thought would play for the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Not all, some.

Facts are as pointed out above, thriller said . . . . Without an OC, apparently (remember 3rd and 13? handoff to Douglas?! Tantamount to just handing the ball over). Thoughts ran through my head watching the game, thoughts of Memphis, Tennessee and us kicking field goals.

Too much player talent in Athens year after year that are in the "arena" not getting a clear message from those that should at this point be better prepared to prepare these young men.

Alabama beat us with "fundamental football". Watching the video better prepares me to say some of the things that I say.

thriller, from the get go, you have always spoke your mind, that I believe is appreciated by most that post here. I do not believe anyone on this board has brought you to where you are now. I truly believe it is also not out of anger. Good on you whether for or against, you speak from the heart, I definitely believe and know that about you.

Have spent the last couple of days looking over the players on our roster. Amazing when I look at the names in Athens, those coming to Athens, and then I see where we are rated as the fifth(5th) best university in some of the rankings for 2016.

I am also amazed when I see some of the players, regardless of school year sitting on the bench. I watched that happen with Ramik Wilson. Seems the NFL likes the way Ramik plays. Again, Ramik Wilson said a couple of things that our head coach did not approve of. After that, Ramik Wilson was noticeably missing from post game interviews by the beat writers. Company policy, those that have seats in Butts-Mehre understand.

Simply do not come after those of us that want to do as wlayton suggested, just win ball games or at least don't pass the buck.

Georgia/Florida in Jacksonville, beginning of the year most of the talking heads and beat writers had this game penciled in for the Georgia Bulldogs. I sincerely hope that happens, tough to live down this way as it is.

All I am after is getting away from the same "stuff" that we seem to revisit each year, for too many years.

Would like nothing better than to see the Red and Black enter the game with the gators and take care of business.

I believe that the defense will put in a good effort, especially after what happened last season.

Here again we have coaches on both teams that coached for Nick Saban. One a head coach, the other a defensive coordinator for two universities that many coaches would love to coach for, considering the talent levels at both schools. Fact.

I also think that McElwain was lucky in a way. Have to say this, as it is the truth. Muschamp left McElwain with a strong defense. McElwain being employed by Saban as offensive coordinator, speaks for itself.

Takes me to this . . . . Schottenheimer came into a situation that many said was ready to go offensively. Some wondered if the defense would be able to keep pace with the offense. At this point, seems the talking heads and beat writers had it backwards.

Just rambling again, things that I think about, think about because I am witnessing again the replay of past years. Would love to come to our board and post differently about coaching in Athens. That my friends is up to the coaches, not me, all I can do is watch and chirp about what I see. JAX could be real good or . . . .

Buc, I just don't see us winning that game unless we keep great field position and/or get 3 turnovers.

Can't see Lambert driving us 75-80 yards......we have the advantage in field position/turnovers we can muster 45-50 yard drives.

NOT optimistic.

I come and I go, very busy these days.
Whenever I return, same old thing, the head coach and incompetence.
Incompetence doesn't make it in the real world.

We are dealing with government disguised as sport.
