If being in the arena leads us to where we currently are, as the expression was made, guess I am missing something.
Easy enough to look at what thriller said above in post #36 and come away with answers. That unfortunately has not happened and it appears that the 2015 Season is just another season in my opinion of coaching failures. Not player failures, have to get that straight.
Brian Schottenheimer was hired by our head coach, there had to be a reason for that.
Are we to believe that Schottenheimer is the type of offensive coordinator that can bring in a player that lost his standing in Virginia and produce at the SEC level, don't care if it is SEC East or West. We have been tested by the West, know how that went.
Got a stiff test from an East opponent, Missouri, the same team that started a freshman at quarterback. Don't really care about the fact the freshman started the game because their best quarterback could not live by team rules. The overall offensive unit that Missouri came to Athens with played as well as our "seasoned offensive unit" that most in the media and this board and others thought would play for the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Not all, some.
Facts are as pointed out above, thriller said . . . . Without an OC, apparently (remember 3rd and 13? handoff to Douglas?! Tantamount to just handing the ball over). Thoughts ran through my head watching the game, thoughts of Memphis, Tennessee and us kicking field goals.
Too much player talent in Athens year after year that are in the "arena" not getting a clear message from those that should at this point be better prepared to prepare these young men.
Alabama beat us with "fundamental football". Watching the video better prepares me to say some of the things that I say.
thriller, from the get go, you have always spoke your mind, that I believe is appreciated by most that post here. I do not believe anyone on this board has brought you to where you are now. I truly believe it is also not out of anger. Good on you whether for or against, you speak from the heart, I definitely believe and know that about you.
Have spent the last couple of days looking over the players on our roster. Amazing when I look at the names in Athens, those coming to Athens, and then I see where we are rated as the fifth(5th) best university in some of the rankings for 2016.
I am also amazed when I see some of the players, regardless of school year sitting on the bench. I watched that happen with Ramik Wilson. Seems the NFL likes the way Ramik plays. Again, Ramik Wilson said a couple of things that our head coach did not approve of. After that, Ramik Wilson was noticeably missing from post game interviews by the beat writers. Company policy, those that have seats in Butts-Mehre understand.
Simply do not come after those of us that want to do as wlayton suggested, just win ball games or at least don't pass the buck.
Georgia/Florida in Jacksonville, beginning of the year most of the talking heads and beat writers had this game penciled in for the Georgia Bulldogs. I sincerely hope that happens, tough to live down this way as it is.
