Jay Rome will be healthy for the first time in his UGA career. Look for him to be a difference maker this year and have a great year.

Still see UGA as a 65/35 pass first offense. With the RB talent we have I do not see enough carries going around to satisfy them all if the upperclassmen stay healthy that is...and if that statement holds true look for transfers to happen...

With renewed enthusiasm I hate to say much negative, but I have often thought UGA recruited without much of a "plan".

I'll never understand why we can have that much RB talent but we can't even get that talent invited to sit in the audience during the Heisman ceremony.

I wonder why we've gone into seasons with holes in certain areas, but 5 highly recruited QB's on the roster.

I wonder how we can have more RB's than we have different run calls in our playbook, too often relying on a lead draw where we hand the ball off to our RB's with them flat footed and standing still.

I "wonder" about a lot of things with this team, but then I remember our HC is Mark Richt, and that is the answer to all of my questions.

yd1 you make a good point when mentioning AM and his ability to "adjust". Kansas City in my opinion was the perfect spot for AM and here is one of my reasons. Chiefs run their version of the West Coast Offense, in my mind it suits AM perfectly. Good reason for him to be excited about the team that chose him in the draft.

One of the points that I am trying to make. Andy Reid picked someone that he knew could and would grasp his system and at some point play. Would not be surprised to see AM take some snaps this season.

I watch what is happening in Athens, like the fact that we have great or potentially great running backs. My problem comes with going three and four deep with running backs and we don't have a set lineup on the offensive line. If this could be discussed as having to "rebuild" the offensive line, would be one thing. The problem with "rebuild" is that we have been "rebuilding" since . . . . fill in the blank.

Going back to the AM thingy . . . . Much was said over his stay in Athens about arm strength. While he might not have a bazooka, he does have enough arm to play the deep game. Takes me back to Andy Reid. Smart coach that does not need a bazooka armed quarterback for the way he runs his offense.

There is no doubt that defensive line play has changed a lot in recent years. Another reason that having a quarterback that can read and react suits AM in Reid's offense.

Know that there are many Falcon fans on this board. What would any of you give for a much improved offensive line? Whether or not you like your present quarterback, going deep has caused him and the team many problems. Matty Ice, will become Crushed Ice if that front does not improve. He is another quarterback with a big arm, but lying on your back does not get the football downfield.

Simply saying that recruiting should be based on "need" not some of the other "stuff" that often comes into play. Every college football team has a board, many or most recruit accordingly. Can't always get the player or players that you want, but there is a game plan prior to playing live football.

There are differences as to what is going on with Georgia not reaching higher goals. Is it talent or lack of talent? Is it coaching or a lack of coaching?

If defenses change, it forces offenses to change, works both ways.

Say again. With the running backs we have on campus and those headed our way, would like nothing more than seeing an offensive line that creates cracks in the defensive front. Gurley gets past the defensive line, linebackers don't like meeting him head on, and Gurley will do that. ogredawg is probably right in his numbers, 65/35 passing/running.

Yesterday watched a replay of South Carolina/Wisconsin football game in Orlando. The Badgers offensive line got all over the Gamecocks defensive line, and a very good defensive line at that. Difference between the two teams, my opinion, Connor Shaw. Smart, tough, with the great ability to tuck it and run. Two of my favorite SEC quarterbacks recently, AM and Connor Shaw.

Edit: Wartdawg, was busy punching keys when you posted. Went back and read . . . . you and I are on the same page it appears. Think it has been that way for some time on this issue. Bothers me when the "explanation" from Richt is . . . . we need many running backs because of injury or the threat of injury. All any of us need to do is check the past along the offensive line, injuries . . . . many. Depth, zero.

We are on the same page.

We talk about our recruiting classes every year, but those who don't recruit as well often have better teams.

I could recruit nothing but 5 star QB's and end up with the highest rated recruiting class in CFB history, but where will I be in the 3rd year with that recruiting class as a football TEAM?

I'll answer that... we would be sitting around talking about our 5 star QB's inability to get the ball downfield from the seat of his pants because we don't have a left tackle who can help keep him upright.

Been there... got the tee shirt.

Takes me down this path when reading what Seth Emerson had to say about our offensive line.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAVID ANDREWS Senior Center
WHY HE’S VITAL: Andrews may not be the best pro prospect on Georgia’s offensive line, but he is the one who holds it together – especially this year, with both guards expected to be first-times tarters. If Andrews were to get hurt the line would be in disarray and the offense as a whole would lose one of its leaders. This may also be the year that Andrews finally sees recognition outside the conference – and we don’t mean the Remington Trophy watch list, which includes anybody who has ever played center. Andrews was named a preseason all-SEC second-team pick by Athlon, and there’s a good bet the media and coaches will also put him on the list. Andrews has started every game at center for Georgia since the start of the 2012 season, and while he hasn’t been perfect, he’s been the most reliable linemen. His interior blocking was an underrated factor in J.J. Green and Brendan Douglas having some success as freshmen. Last year, Georgia at least had starting guard Chris Burnette as a fallback option at center. This year the backup is the inexperienced Hunter Long, or a redshirt freshman. Andrews must be healthy and probably needs to be even better in order to take pressure off the young guards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyone that thinks not having a experienced center, in my opinion is with the group that Wartdawg describes above. Star rated personnel, BS. We have been fortunate that David Andrews has reamined healthy for the most part. Even he has been dinged, just a tough young man that plays through hurt and injury.

Mark Richt if there was one offensive line position that I would make sure is properly backed up, center is the spot. Can't really see any of our running backs filling in at center if David went down. Just trying to make the point that our priorities seem to be skewed.

Know one thing . . . . hearing the offensive line mentioned more this off season than years of watching and listening to recruiting reports.

I think the reason we are hearing more about OL recruiting in 2015 is CWF has broke

Through the Godfathers thick skull and has his ear also he may have heard from the

Bama gang having a better than good OL takes a huge amount of pressure of the O

Only way to take over a game. And kill the clock. Big ugliest moving dead ass tired

DL. Move the chains. This might be a clue as to seeing more pounding the rock from us
