Another Look at "Possibilities"

Couple of things that come to mind.

Believe that Chris Wilson was going to be a very special coach at Georgia. All of the "stuff" that grantham "stirred up" in my opinion cost us not only a good defensive coach, a good man that would have meant much to the young men coming to play the game in Athens. Have only good thoughts about Chris Wilson and his family.

Now we have Tracy Rocker in that slot, but I have "more" than "high hopes" for Rocker and the young folks that will "learn the game" from someone that has been there and done that.

Jeremy Pruitt could be that diamond in the rough, and don't mean that as a coach that has not earned his spurs. Fascinating to me that a young coach like Jeremy Pruitt had the foresight to go out and lure Tracy Rocker to Athens. Rocker could have signed on at a lot of colleges and probably at some of the pro locations, chose to side up with Pruitt.

It is not like Pruitt/Rocker was a rolling of the dice. They know and respect each other from times gone by with each at a different place of employment. They are not only friends, they have great respect for each others recruiting and coaching capabilities.

This takes me back to Will Friend and him also knowing not only Pruitt, he knows and respects Rocker also. Has been mentioned that Rocker will be a plus not only for the defense, he will and is going to make a difference when it comes to helping out with offensive line recruiting.

Georgia landing Pruitt/Rocker and Company is the single biggest improvement that I have seen in hiring coaches maybe ever. There is no downside to the new hires. Might take more than one year to get our "house in order" but that might not be a true statement either.

Do not be surprised if "soon" we see offensive linemen moving in the direction of Athens. It is not like the defensive side of the ball does not understand that it takes "both sides" to be able to say, "mission accomplished".

It is remembered that grantham had a run in with McGarity. That did happen. grantham is not the type to be called on the carpet and let the water run off of his back. Cannot accept the fact that there is more to football than . . . . todd grantham. Anyone on this board and many that have read recent comments understand that grantham was taking shots not only at Richt, but definitely taking shots at McGarity.

Remembering that not one coach under grantham is with him in Louisville. Then we look at Pruitt and we see the direct opposite. Take from that what we will, know how I feel about that.

It has been "years" since we had coaches on both sides of the ball that showed respect to each other. Beginning to see that now.

Pruitt/Rocker and Company will not be wilting violets, they are passionate about football, will also do some things on the sideline and elsewhere that those that are "molded" another way should stay out of the way and allow the University of Georgia Football Team to move forward.

Message has been sent, and from all I can gather, our recruiting is going better than it has in some time. I also believe that we will end up signing around 30 young men this season . . . . reason for that . . . . Pruitt/Rocker and Company have made it "Crystal" clear that performance earns a job, no teacher's pets needed or put up with. Greatest message sent from Athens in a very long time . . . . want to play SEC football . . . . come show me, there are new "sheriff and deputies" in the Classic City. I do believe that.

I don't think there is any big secret going on with in state top O-linemen.

We get our QB's... we get our WR's, we get our RB's.... the OL, we seem to miss out on a lot of top guys.

Where lies your heart, there lies your treasure.

My guess is simple. Other teams go after those OL guys harder than we do. Whatever the amount of effort it is we expend on the "skill" guys... that's the amount of effort other teams spend on those trench guys.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wart. Aka Spock. Your thinking about our recruiting of OL. Logical makes sense to me

Also see a greater Press from us now to do the work to get OL to commit to the G

Occam's razor - with a lack of absolute certainties, the simplest explanation that makes the least amount of assumptions is the one we should adopt.

B)

I do think we're swinging in the right direction.... finally, but I'm still not going to be convinced until I see MR do it consistently.
I've seen this monkey show before where UGA is reactive to a problem but not proactive moving forward after the immediate need is addressed. I want to see years in a row of a commitment to the line, and I want to see us keep some of the top in state OL talent.

Progress has been made though; talent is here.. we just need to how do you say...

Coach 'em up.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Worth taking a look at the link below. David Pollack stays on track when it comes to college football and his/others feelings. Never a doubt about Pollacks feelings for Georgia. College football needs more like David.
