Besdies, if a Lorenz Carter ends up being All-SEC, and the "package deal" guy only ends up being a solid ST players and a player who can give you 8 snaps a game, that is a Win situation.
Many have mentioned Richard Sherman in this thread. He was a 3rd Round Pick. He was coached up. Give me a 3 star with a chip on his shoulder and coach who can "teach", and I'll give you a David Pollack.
What he said!
No problem with a package deal, just make sure that the bigger package pans out.

The site below lists the top 10 defensive ends in the SEC for 2013.
Double trouble
1. Michael Sam, Missouri
2. Kony Ealy, Missouri
Missouri had the SEC’s best tandem at defensive end in Michael Sam and Kony Ealy. Michael Sam was a former two-star nobody exiting high school, and he morphed into the SEC’s top defensive end this season. Sam racked up 48 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and nine QB hurries. That’s the season we all thought Jadeveon Clowney would have, but Sam was the SEC’s most explosive lineman. Although Sam had a bigger year, Kony Ealy’s ceiling is higher, and he made 43 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and 14 QB hurries. Sam had a big first half, but Ealy was the SEC’s top defensive player down the stretch of the season. Both combined to make Mizzou’s defensive line a force.

Like the way Missouri came back from serious injury in 2012 and proved to all in the SEC that they have a serious coaching staff. Other head coaches could learn a lot from Gary Pinkel. Took his licks in 2012, no excuses, proved the saying . . . . coach'em up is possible. We will hear more about Gary Pinkel and the team from Missouri. Weaklings they are not.

Grantham said at a news conference that Petrino ''is a head coach that offensively is one of the best in the country at what he does. I just felt like it was a chance to win a title.''
Guess that he does not feel UGA fit into the category of winning a title. Has been a long time, however grantham's presence in Athens sure as heck did not move the program forward.
