I don't think he so much had "it" as he had a defense that gave up more than 30 points in a game ONCE while he was there. Under Van Gorder, weheld teams to 10-20 points 90% of the time.

A little easier to win as a QB when all you have to do is roll out 24 points.

Not saying Stafford/AM/Green are the same, different, great, bad, or anythinmg else....I just wonder how would we remember AM and Stafford if they did't have the pressure of having to hit 35 to win.

Hobnail boot.
Greene to Johnson at Auburn.
Performed when he had to.

average, don't get me wrong, I think greene was very good, and one of my favorite Dawgs. I guess I'm just trying to wonder how would these other UGA QB's be remembered if they had the defenses DG had.

Check out post #76 in this thread. Looking at date lines, we were ahead of the AJC and other "pay for view" sites again. The link below was posted today 1/25/2014. Our article was posted almost 24 hours before the one in the link. Just saying again, a lot of what the members say here, lands elsewhere. Not saying that the link below fudged, don't believe it, just saying we find "things out also". :)

I’d also like to see more blitzing, Jenny, but my suggested new wrinkle would be on offense. Bobo has been working some elements of the spread into his offense over the past three seasons and I’d like to see more of that. Along those lines, I’d like to see Bobo come up with more creative ways to use backup quarterback Faton Bauta than simply inserting him to run a predictable wildcat-type QB keeper like he briefly tried in the bowl game. That’s like holding up a sign saying, “Hey, we’re inserting our RUNNING quarterback on this play!” From all reports, Bauta has a really strong arm and I’d love to see him inserted for what is expected to be a run and instead chunk the seed deep downfield to a wide-open receiver. There’s nothing like confounding expectations!

Buc, funny you posted that...I literally just got through reading that and then got back on here. Spot on. FB is a sophomore this season correct?

Mean he would get 2 full seasons after Mason if they will give him a chance.

Yes sir.

Not telling anyone on this site things about football that they don't already know. While all of us on this site can't know everything about every player, we do have some insight to certain players and coaches.

I know this about Faton. He has the same "guttiness" (word?) that AM has. Easy to get into "some" quarterbacks heads, and the results prove that out.

For example, South Carolina tried that with AM, did not work. Auburn did things to AM that not many quarterbacks would have even wanted to play again after the hits. Same can be said for the "shot" AM took in ATL against Alabama. Trust me, Faton Bauta has that working for him. He knows no fear, will not be intimidated. Yes, he will run over you. Would be a great linebacker.

One thing I am tired of and have seen enough of it displayed in Athens under this head coach. Seniority. Seniority is one thing, but talent from whatever level of time on campus should be the determining factor. Just another drawback with richt as head coach. He is fulfilling his soul, making himself look good in a "fatherly way" at the expense of the young men that know they are better equipped to do the job.

Jeremy Pruitt made one statement that will stick with me. If he does not live up to that, there won't be anything nice being said about him from this old fart. Pruitt said and I am going to believe . . . . "competition at every position". Pruitt simply said you get what you work for. That has been the downfall (one of them) by mark richt. A position coach masquerading as a head coach. Gets to wear the same mask again. Sorry, everything leads back to the supposed "leader". Follow the money.
